My Actifit Report Card: July 17 2019
After yesterdays Misadventure today, I found the piece of art I was looking for
Good evening everyone, I am sharing a few shots taken today with my iPhone for my Actifit post,
In yesterday’s actifit post I recounted how I totally messed up trying to find a piece of art in Harlem, well today I can report I found it and will show my morning walk including the crocheted art piece
I again got off the train at the 125th St Harlem stop on the Metro North

Now through doing better research I knew there were some other bits of art int he area so I walked to see those first
This one is called I don’t know why the gaged bird Sings, Ah Me by Jose Carlos Casado in Marcus Garvey Park

And this is another piece of art in the same park called Alley Oop by Saya Woolfalk as you can see it is painted on a basketball court

NOW we get tot he piece of art I was looking for yesterday with no success, these are Yarn art. Guess you would call it, Crocheted flowers on a fence, titled La Flor De Mi Matre by Naomi Lawrence. And is On a fence around a school I think the spot is called Eugene McCabe field

In the other corner of the field is another pice which I show next, this is called Eat Me, by Capucine Bourcat.
The piece is 1500 photo printed aluminum square tiles spelling out Eat Me, and were inspired but he artist seeing children in the neighborhood eating unhealthy snacks.

Happy that i had found the pieces I was after seeing, I thought I would walk to the office since it was around 7Am and the coolest time of the day so I walked along park Ave for a bit beside the raised train Tracks and came across some more art

This one is on a building under the Metro North Train tracks, and about a Butchers called tops I o believe but it thought it was a fun piece to include with this post

BY this time the heat and humidity was picking up and I decided walking back to the office was not the best of ideas so I headed into the subway and caught the 6 train back to 42nd street, but since i stated with a photo in a station I thought i would finish off with this shot of the mosaic sign for the station

So my walk was shorter than my normal walk only going from 25th Street to 96th Street ( with my usual zig zagging up and down the avenues if things caught my eye, but with the heat I think I made a good decision.
When I walked out for lunch today the temperature was about 100F which seems even hotter in the concrete Jungle that is NYC, as I was walking to the Deli I go to I was wondering why I didn't just eat front he cafeteria in the office today but I did manage to make it over my 10K step goal for on workdays, but glad to be sitting indoors at home with the AC running and feeling nice and cool as I prepare this post
And thats all folks!
unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Hot and humid today. Glad you managed to take some nice shots; some cool art in Harlem, never visited that area. 😊
Harlem had a bad reputation but some parts of it are quite nice but some areas I walked yesterday I would not recommend visiting
I like that giant pig on the truck! Very dramatic pig!
Yeah that did make me smile
Amazing photo :) Cheers :)
