My Actifit Report Card: May 26 2019
Milford Memorial Day Parade
We had a beautiful Sunny day today which was great as today was our Memorial Day parade and I walked downtown to watch the parade, I took a whole bunch of shots with my camera, and quickly edited a few for this post, and now need to get back and edit the rest of them
As with most parades here, it starts with a couple of Police Motorcycles
Sony A7III
And you have some groups in period Military Attire
Sony A7III
The veterans on their Motorbikes always make it to the Memorial Day Parade, and now a little vent, which may be because I am ex-military, but I find it kind of sad for the St Patricks Day Parade you get a huge turnout, the streets totally packed with people to watch the parade, but for Memorial Day parades the crowds are so much smaller and seeing to get smaller every year.
OK vent over

This little girl carrying the small flag was so cute I had to snap a shot to share
Sony A7III
I love Old fire trucks I believe this is from 1932 if I heard correctly
Sony A7III
A Mother and child in the parade, witht he temp being around 85F it must have bene pretty hot in the period costimes.

And finishing off with another youngster in the parade

I didn't overdo it with steps today under 6K and my foot with the blisters is improving each day :)

Thanks Kindly for the support and resteem :)
I can sense your bewilderment at the lack of ppl that have turned out for this event.
Such lovely period relevant costumes on such a hot day!
I am sorry to hear you are nursing blisters. Holy great step count considering your owchie feet! I hope they are much better really fast 🙏💗🌼
Yes indeed some of the costumes were awesome I must say but in the heat today it must have been so hot in some of them.
I walked for a week on a broken ankle a few years back before being ordered to go to a Dr to have it checked, so a Blister/sore won't slow me down completely LOL
But i have taken it somewhat slowly these last couple of days and it is improving,
Watch those blisters @tattoodjay! Touching parade in memory of lives lost, sad that not many turned up!
Thanks I have been fairly sensible this weekend keeping my steps around 5K its just to nice to be stuck indoors all day LOL

Thanks for this initiative ;)
One parade offers green beer, joy and merriment, a fairy tale or two.
This parade reminds us of carnage, our past, strong reflection of who we are as humans. Suffering of the past people prefer to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to, numbers dwindle with the people who showed respect are slowly disappearing.
Lovely day with warm sunshine, traditional time period costumes a wonderful way to remember the culture and history the land was built on.
Thoroughly enjoyed taking this walk with you JJ.
Yes you make a good point on the priorities of some, but it was a beautiful day for the parade
Those costumes look really great! Looks like a pretty fun event :)
Being ex-military all be it from Down Under this is an event I like to get to each year,
some of the groups did really well with the period dress for sure
History seems to fade as generations pass away JJ.
This is a great parade and your shots are spot on my friend.
Blessings!
Sadly that is so true, but sadly here its not that old history since Troops have been lost serving overseas recently, but I think A lot do equate Memorial day with the World Wars
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Special for me photos?:)) Just kidding:)
A great event! And I know what you mean about smaller and smaller crowds during really important holidays.. we have the same here. The new year is just crazily loved, but the victory day is just a day of rest from job for most people,no respect, no holy memory:( so sad:(
A lady with a girl are wonderful! Like from the fairytale! Especially the girl, an amazing face!
