Evergreen December Challenge Round Two: December 14 2018

I've been a bit rushed (too much steem, one way and another) this week and almost missed an entry for this challenge, but here I am, last minute :)
This week I've chosen number 22 upvote somone using @treeplanter.
I haven't used @treeplanter for a week or two, but it's a really great scheme. You send any amount between 0.01 and 0.2 SBD to @treeplanter, adding the url link for the post you want @treeplanter to vote for in the memo field. Hey presto, sometime later a fat upvote, usually double your contribution, appears on the post in question.

The post I chose to support was this fundraising post from @pifc, another lovely initiative which supports great curation of great bloggers. Early in my time here, one of my posts was featured on @pifc by @revisesociology - lots of Steemians came by to say hello and I had some interesting conversations and came into contact with some new followers. I'm not sure whether @revisesociology or I won anything (it was a long time ago) but it was a good experience. I would recommend supporting @pifc :)
Biodiversity in Leicester
Leicester has lots of parks and open spaces, and manages them to protect or create lots of diverse habitats.
This is Aylestone Meadows, a huge open space running alongside the canal and river. Part of the Grand Central Railway runs through it and has been converted to a cycle way. Here's a post I wrote about Aylestone Meadows earlier this year.

Thanks for sharing about @treeplanter because I'd never heard of it. It's a neat twist on an upvotes to be helping save and restore a forest. I recently supported @pic and entered their contest to highlight 2 new Steemians. Since I'm pretty new myself I can't do much on my own, the 2 people I recommended got some love from other Steemians, so it all helps a little.
