This is why Steemit can Survive! Thank You!!

in #fundraising6 years ago (edited)

Sometimes I can go into panic mode and when over 1/3 of our SP disappeared last week that was exactly where I was at. To @pifc 1,000sp was a huge amount to loose and really didn't want to be giving out smaller votes. Decided to see what the community would do if a request for help was sent out. Honestly there are some amazing people one Steemit and I figured we could raise some money in post rewards to be able to lease some SP short term to help offset the loss.

WOW...The results are amazing

The Fundraising Post is currently sitting at $15.94 which is the highest payout ever for @pifc, even from when steem was much higher in terms of dollar value!

So the final numbers for the post aren't in yet, but it looks like we will raise 15.026SP|15.025STEEM, & 0.000SBD as of right now. That is 30+ steem in rewards which is enough to lease around 650sp for 12 weeks. This alone would have been close to solving our issue. To this we (the @pifc community) owe a huge thanks to a few larger votes that really tipped the scales. @delso, @blockbrothers, @fulltimeangel, @gcalex, @ripperone, @tarazkp, & @fulltimegeek all came in with votes that really tipped the scale...and thanks to the fulltimebots...seriously wow they can change your day really fast.

This isn't to ignore all of the amazing support from everyone else, just really nice to see that in the time of need which larger accounts stepped up to support a community project to support smaller steemians. Right now is a great time to start taking notice of who is actually helping support a better tomorrow for Steemit. So many have parked their SP with Bid Bots or Delegated to a project to earn passive income that it's really hard to find support from accounts that are looking to grow the community without expecting anything in return.

Steem Gifts

I wasn't really thinking steem gifts would come in, but true to the amazing nature of some great steemians we had 3 steem gifts which have already leased a total of 305sp. To show the money was used towards the goal of increasing SP the transaction numbers are included so you can look them up if you would like.

@psionic-tremors Donated 5.0 Steem
Your delegation request id: 18215 for 13 weeks 105.001 SP was filled by @dog-marley
5.018 Steem

@simplymike 10 Steem
@dipoabasch 0.473 Steem
Your delegation request id: 18267 for 12 weeks 230.012 SP was filled by @riseofth

These gifts allowed us to quickly boost the account and added to what we will be able to lease with the post earnings we will be right around the 1,000sp we lost.

But wait there's more!

Now I feel like an infomercial...but seriously there is more, and it's a lot more! Thanks to steemian's stepping up with new delegations we already raised 1,125sp. Which means when this is all said and done we will have added over 2,000sp!

Now want to point out that @dynamicrypto helped out by running a contest with 500 SBI shares for prizes...more of a task list then a contest, but either way it rewarded delegating to @pifc. This was a huge boost and not only did we receive multiple delegations but also at least 1 new entry for this week's Curation Contest...pretty cool!

PIFC Divider.jpg

Wait there is even MORE!....Now I really feel like an Infomercial

As I was finishing up this post a new notification came in:

@andrewharland gifted you a delegation for 8 weeks 999.99 SP, you get notified when it is completed.

And then a few minutes later:

Your delegation request id: 18304 for 8 weeks 999.993 SP was filled by @verodato

So there is another 1,000sp for the next 8 weeks to really help boost @pifc's vote value. Many of you may not know, but @andrewharland gives 1 SBI shares each week to the Judges of the Curation Contest and also sponsors 4 other shares. He is out of pocket 8 Steem each week just because he wants to help the cause. His continued support has been a huge help in keeping the contest going strong and offering additional rewards.

Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You!

Seriously this show of support from the community is amazing and really helps show what can be achieved when great people do great things. Thank you all so much for your support on the fundraising effort.

The amazing community that we have here can survive this crypto Winter by helping each other grow. This type of support proves that the community as a whole while smaller is still very strong. Steemit can survive, and in the end those who survived this downturn will be stronger then ever with the personal connections we are securing while others are taking time off.

BTW....This Post will also be part of the fundraising

All liquid proceeds of this post will go towards leasing even more SP to grow the voting power of the account further.

Sort:

Can you please tell me from where you lease sp?
I checked both blocktrades and minnowbooster but both of them cost much higher than what you got for 5 steem.

Minnowbooster is where we lease from.

Really amazing! Wow! :-D
I really hope SteemIt survives. It's the first site where I really enjoy blogging, and not just re-sharing memes and other people's jokes... like I used to do in FB.

It's nice not seeing the same meme 18 times in the matter of a week. But I do miss some of the social aspects of FB like the photos of friends and family so I go back every couple weeks to catch up.

I can't. Facebook doesn't allow me to login again unless I send a copy of my Citizenship Card or Passport.

I'd rather not use it than expose my personal documents to them.

What the heck kinda crap is that. That is a little much for no purpose except for tracking

Hey, sorry I wasn't in time for this! I completely missed the panic! Sorry!

you are forgiven this 1 time only...lol.

Eep... How much Steem for a second chance?

hmmm...How about a couple SBI shares? They are a gift that keeps giving.

Actually, are you interested in incinboost for a bit of diversification?

Don't know that one, but love any autovotes that help us long term. I was actually joking with you, but if you are serious then anything that helps the account is great. Not having all our eggs in one basket so to speak is always smart.

Yeah, I know... But it is nice to pitch in every now and then! I have registered 5 shares with @incinboost ,hopefully the votes will set coming soon!

Dear friend offcourse There is help for this cause congrats on this result.

Thanks for your support.

I feel too that Steem will survive. There is great community support and that is huge!

The community aspect of steem is what some of large stake holders don't understand sadly. I was on the mspwaves call yesterday talking about the direction of steemit. A few talked down about posts that don't add value to the blockchain which is fine, but their idea of adding value is knowledge based posts like instructions on how to do things, think installing a toilet was an example...so stupid. Unless I am changing a toilet today and happen upon the post about changing a toilet right then that post is worthless information lost in cyberspace.

To me the value of posts is about the connections people are making here. Forget knowledge sharing, it's a social media site and people need to be social. Without the social aspect there wouldn't be but a handful of very big fish mainly Steemit Inc accounts and their yes men sitting around talking about how people just were to stupid to "get it".

Problem with becoming a knowledge based platform is there is zero social aspect to it and once something has been taught there is no need for it to be done again. Seriously how many posts about changing a toilet are needed? IMO zero, but lets just say it's 1 and done. But why would anyone upvote this? What value does it have until someone needs the knowledge? Absolutely zero, but there is no simple way to reward that post 3 years later when you actually need it (assuming it can be found). So producing this type of knowledge based content will lead to zero rewards.

Communities are everything and the personal connections made is the only thing that will allow steemit to survive IMO.

Sorry, went off on a tangent there...lol.

I 100% agree with you. besides the accounts that have tons of SP and vote for themselves mostly, Steem would be dead without the people who are here because of the community.

I listened in the beginning to the "quality" talk and stressed a little about it until I fully stepped into asking *Who decides what is quality?"

We all know that many artists and authors' works were not respected during their lifetime, looked upon as trash - to become highly appreciated later. And vice versa.

Sadly, right now the ones with money are deciding pretty much for the rest of us - just as in life...

They just don't get that people are an asset. That is why Facebook and other social media sites are so focused on the user base when they start up. They worry about profits after they have a large base of users, but not until then.

I am loving that smaller community minded people are the ones buying up steem and powering up while larger accounts are powering down and selling some off.

maybe that will shift the balance - let's hope so... I am powering up all I can...

This was nice to see.
Steemit is an incredible platform and the people who make it up are the best of humankind offers.

Great to see the success of the project have a future! It will truly be a part of the steps needed to create value throughout the ecosystem.

Awesome to see what the community can achieve if we all work together. And @pifc deserves it for sure. I don't think anyone would like to see it being in trouble. You're doing so much good for people, every week again. Perfect example of 'you get what you give'. :0)
