On writing...
I wrote 1000 words today. I finally decided on the direction of that difficult love scene. So the words written today was a conceptual piece that leads into the climax! Yes, there will be a climax in my very adventurous man-friendly romance novel!
When I say conceptual, what I mean is it’s a very rough draft, badly written piece that I rush out to get the ideas across for my husband. I like to test out concepts on him before I over-commit to writing something. We’ve been arguing a lot about direction. He wants me to write happy fun stuff, but I like darker and grittier themes. He’s one of those who needs it all drawn out for him, and I’m not the best in explaining the concepts of my novel.
So I wrote it out.
It’ll be a chase, but I had to make sure I properly addressed consent. I had to write out the nature of my cursed weapon and how this all integrated into the scene. It’s all still a little complicated even to me. I put some themes in there that I thought would challenge my super straight-laced husband. I was genuinely surprised when he read it and said: “I like this. Go with it!”

Aside from my fictional writing, he only reads news or stuff related to his beloved game, Ingress. Lol.
When I first worked up the courage to get him to read my stuff, he laughed and sniggered like a teenager when he got to the romantic bits. He still does. Highly immature he is.
There are times I wonder if he is the right test subject for my man romance. He’s not exactly the most romantic type since he once bought me running socks for Valentines. And his gifts are so shit, I’ve banned him from buying me stuff years ago. A complete waste of money to indulge is his bad taste. He seems to prefer my fight scenes and comedic stuff so far, which is frustrating for me! And his idea of a romance novel is candle-lit dinners and people holding hands walking on a beach...I needed to wack that demented idea out of him early on.
He just indulges me and he’s actually a good editor of my work. Or at least keeping my habit to go silly and over the top under control. ;)

It’s my husband’s. :) Mine is racked lower down. He refuses to store the bikes elsewhere because they’re only under insurance in the house. We have a bungalow out back that is stuffed and a carport as opposed to a garage.
So....
My study wall behind my desk is it! Although, I love looking at them as a form of rustic art. Bikes are beautiful. ;)
