Walking and talking with Steemians in Colorado Springs - My Actifit Report: June 21 2019

Today — day two of the Block Party sponsored by @thealliance — was such fun. And the activities of the day resulted in a lot of steps!

First, a group of us walked to a local hotel/casino for breakfast. Pictured here are @bethvalverde, @mariannewest, @davedickeyyall, @rakkasan84, and @scarletreaper.

Here's a picture from the return trip. That's @mariannewest pictured in front of the phone pole. This should give you an idea of how steep the streets are. And the elevation here is 9400+ feet, so the air is a little thin! We had to move slow up the hills.

After that, Marianne and I walked to the grocery store for a few lunch items (about two miles round trip), then we returned to the group and spent the afternoon in group sessions and activities.

These included an excellent presentation on SBI (Steem Basic Income) by @josephsavage and @ecoinstant, and some great activities led by @mariannewest. She had us do some laugh yoga as a loosening up exercise and then we did a series of freewrite exercises, resulting in a three-part story. Then several of us read our stories aloud, which was an amazing experience. People who perhaps never considered themselves writers found they developed something enjoyable, touching, or funny. We laughed so hard!

In the evening, we made homemade pizza with lots of fresh fresh veggies and chicken. Here are two of the chefs at work -- @enginewitty, our fabulous host, and @dreemsteem.

Well friends, that’s all I have got for today! I'm struggling with picture uploads here, so I will have to do a retrospective on the whole trip when I get back home.
