Sold past and memories

Today there was nothing worth mentioning apart from work, reading & training.
Except maybe that the astaxanthin, which I had ordered yesterday around 22 o'clock, was already there this morning at 9 o'clock! And that without an express delivery or anything. I will test it in the next weeks and write a short experience report in due time.

Buying new books

I was surfing the Internet today looking for books written by German soldiers that describe the war from their perspective and how it influenced them. As a sergeant candidate I will definitely gain experience abroad, so I don't think it hurts to get informed in advance.

I came across a page (https://www.rebuy.de/) where you could buy all the used books for a fraction of the new price. I also did that, because the books should be in a very good condition and that is enough for me, because I will probably read the books only once.

Selling old jewels

On the site you could also sell your old books and I felt in my basement a thousand books from before, which I could make some money here. I looked in the Internet still for further sides with this possibility and felt only another as respectable enough. (https://www.momox.de). A big advantage is that both have their own app, so I can easily scan the barcodes and don't have to enter eachISBN number individually.

So I went into the cellar and started to scan the book codes. Then I was always shown whether the book was being bought and how much they were offering me for it.
With the amount of books I own, I spent a few hours and shed a few tears when I saw how much they offered me for some books that had given me fantastic hours.

Dozens of books about my dreams as a child, about football, sports, detectives, criminalistics, cool novels (about my days) and much more. Most of them have fallen into oblivion of humanity and are more or less doomed to continue dreaming in my basement that someone will read them again or they will ever see the sunlight again...
A sad fate.

I don't want to get rid of all the books, just the unused ones. Nobody in my family can do anything with them. I will donate the children's books or give them to someone who can use them. I don't know what to do with the rest. Everything that cannot be sold, I would, if possible, donate somewhere.

Specialist books and everything that continues to interest me will stay with me forever. I love to own books and always have them handy.

I have a lot of literature about motorcycles, the German Armed Forces, police, training, specialist books on mechanical engineering, biographies of great personalities, but also stories by Sir Conan Arthur Doyle, Shakespear, about the heroes of ancient Greece and countless others. I can only recommend everyone to read regularly and to educate themselves with a real book in their hands.
