Many nations in Africa Suffer from rampant youth prostitution; which endangers the youth and social structure. Leaders and NGO'S have called for the bolstering of youth and social protection agendas. Ghanas leaders hope to actively curtail the increase of Child Prostitution in the country.

This government commissioned research by the "Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Cape Coast". They call the research “Gold in Between My Thighs”; it examines the rationale behind young girls choosing to participate in the industry and the most active backgrounds.

As suspected the research concluded that orphans and girls from impoverished backgrounds are most susceptible to using prostitution as a survival mechanism.

According to the research they are often licing on their own ans fending for themselves thus they see prostitution as a means for meeting their needs. This exposes them to the variety of negatives diseases and dangers associated with the practice.

Illicit sexual activity is not only causes by the young ladies but also stems from the lack of proper policing when it comes to the men who solicit them. Prostitution is a sign of systemic failures from consecutive administrations. It can only be remedied by addressing a multitude other complicated social issues that plague the African continent

The current status quo of joblessness and corruption have to be confronted on all levels if we wish to stem the flow of women choosing to be sex workers. The true issue is that Africa has notoriously over burdened and underfunded governments that are also plauged with corruption. This leads to a perpetual storm of brain drain, poverty and social inequality.
