Children's Internment Camps. Foster Care, and escaping Central America's Drug wars.
Adoption is big business in the USA. We adopt children from all around the world. This is especially true among the Evangelical population. It’s a part of their religious calling. They consider adoption a sacred duty which god has told them to embrace.
I did a few searches for “Evangelicals adoption” and found that there are dozens of agencies set up to facilitate adoption by Evangelicals. Creating institutions to facilitate the “rescue” of children from impoverished countries, and poverty stricken people here in the USA. In effect this adoption effort results in cultural destruction, and internal conflict for the children that it is inflicted on. The children of poverty stricken parents are often minority children, these Evangelical adoption agencies end up placing the children with anglo families. This results in the children having to find a way to adapt to dominant white society. In the case of children of native cultures, they are deprived of their traditional ways. The same thing happens when foreign children are placed in Evangelical families.
There are now tens of thousands of children living in concentration camps across the USA. Many of these children escaped drug cartels’ fueled violence in their homelands by heading north to the USA.
Their parents had hoped to apply for refugee status, as allowed by international law. Sadly the 45th POTUS has close ties with for profit prison companies. These for profit prison companies piled money into the Trump campaign a couple of years back with the understanding that there would be a return on investment. This is the nature of politics in the USA, wealth buys influence. In the instance of refugees from South and central America the policy in the USA has created enormous costs for the taxpayers, and huge profits for prison industry. Making immigrants into criminals has created a situation where the use of for profit prisons has led to the abuse and neglect of children held in custody by immigration and customs enforcement.Criminalizing immigrants creates a massive supply of “endangered” children, these children are then taken from their families and placed through a program administered by the department of Health and Human Services. The Office of Refugee Resettlement has ties to Evangelical adoption agencies.
In effect the use of a zero tolerance policy at the border is resulting in children of indigenous tribes being placed into religious schools again. Predictably this has resulted in the children facing mental and physical abuse.The extreme religious beliefs among these foster parents has led to a dangerous and often illegal child trading network. The children who end up being traded among foster parents are often the ones who are lost by the larger system. These are the children who have been placed by agencies, empowered by the federal government, with families who were unable to cope with the child’s behaviors. There are reports of emotional and physical abuse happening to children who were unwilling or unable to adapt to their new evangelical lifestyle. These children are often trying to cope with being separated from their parents, country and culture. Their difficulties lead the foster parents to have second thoughts about housing the foster child, who is then transferred through this network of families on Facebook or another social media site. These networks of religious groups and foster families are overwhelmed because of the ICE zero tolerance policy for people illegally crossing the border. There are tens of thousands of children who are being held by the department of Health and Human Services. These children are typically held in foster care when they are not in the hands of case managers, educators and doctors. The effect of separating children from their parents in this instance is to create a massive housing shortage.
Now the Unaccompanied Refugee Minors are being warehoused in Walmarts come internment camps. These inhumane conditions would be considered criminal if John Q Public subjected their child to it. These Influx Care Facilities can be set up on federal property exempting them from state, and local laws. Abuse has been widely reported in these concentration camps. Sexual abuse of children by guards, blackmail of adults, gang violence, and murder are all common place. These facilities are considered black sites, there are no cameras allowed, or recording of any kind. The children’s abusers are being protected inside of these camps. In exactly the same way that the abuse of guards in GITMO was hidden, the tapes are being destroyed, and abuse is under reported. These camps are inhumane.
This brings us to the question: Why would parents subject their children to this dangerous and harmful situation? Why would it be worth the risk of losing your child into this monstrous system of so called child welfare?
The answer is that the children are safer among rapist guards and in prison like conditions than they are in their home countries. This is the reality which seems to be lost on most of the public in the USA, South and Central America are embroiled in gang violence. There are so many killings in El Salvador and Guatemala that you are actually doing your child a favor by sending them into an United States child internment camp.In recent years as many as 9 out of 10 children being held as Unaccompanied Minor Aliens were from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduros. The people of the Central American nations are caught up in massive gang violence. There are extortion rings, drug runners and human traffickers all working to extract as much value as they can from the people of these third world countries. This results in massive murder rates, and emotional, psychological and physical abuse as tools of control. The gangs are enormous and have ties across national borders. These gangs control all levels of government through their coercion. One notable gang MS-13 was identified by Trump as a potential threat to the USA and as a reason for shutting down the border, sadly the majority of the people fleeing the south are trying to escape the these violent gangs, the immigrants are not criminals, they are fleeing criminals who are funded by the USA’s hunger for illegal drugs.
This information leads down a very dark rabbit hole. In the past couple days of reading I have found; human trafficking, drugs trafficking, prison profiteering, rape, murder, child trafficking, weapons trafficking, and most of it can be laid at the feet of big banksters.
These policies of mass incarceration are enormously profitable for select groups in the USA. The children and their foster families receive funding from the federal government, as do the facilities where the children are being detained. Our government’s policies on the drug war, as laid out by the CIA and other covert groups in Central America is largely to blame for the influx of people fleeing gang wars. As is so often the case, the monster is of our own making.Thanks for reading this far!
