Leaf eating insects

in zzan3 years ago (edited)

Good nigh all steemians friends back again on my opportunity today to greet you all. on the occasion of the afternoon where I will share some photos of leaf-eating insects.

Christmas beetles have a life cycle in which the larvae feed on things like grass and the adult cocoons feed on the leaves of mature rubber trees.

If you start to lose a lot of the forested area, which we think is where most Christmas beetles thrive, then you start to see a decline.

The drier spring weather can actually delay the emergence of the adult beetles from the pupal stage, so instead of emerging as adults - the friendly Christmas beetles we know, the pupae - instead stay in the pupal stage for another season and this leads to less number of adult beetles we can see and know.
