Learning about textile with @yo-yo #3 Weave Ramie fiber/染め織りのこと #3 苧麻を織る
So this is the first video post for "Learning about textile with @yo-yo". I tried to add narration but listen to my speaking English was horrible...jaaa... so I made subtitle instead in English and Japanese. Maybe someday... but not yet :(
I weave Ramie fiber(a bast fiber similar with linen or hemp) with back strap weaving machine. I stayed about 2 months to learn weaving from teacher Omaki-san this summer. I only slept 2-3 hours a day to preparation or checking transfer videos and it is super country side so didn't have internet. So I'm a bit groggy in this video.
Any way... this is the first one so I'm not sure the length of the video is ok or interesting for everyone or... but I think I did my best at least right now. Since I'm an archivist so I wish to have your opinions not only weaving but also the quality of editing or way of showing or... as a archive study. Thank you very much for watching!
染め織りのことシリーズに初めて動画で投稿してみます。ナレーションをつけようと試みましたが、特に英語が酷くて自分で聞いてられないので、ひとまず字幕を付けることにしました。英語と日本語で書いています。
この夏に勉強させていただいた苧麻（チョマ・からむし）という繊維を織る作業をビデオに纏めてみました。糸の準備が間に合わなかったり、映像のチェックをしてパソコンに取り込む作業などがあったり、滞在した2ヶ月の間、毎日2-3時間しか寝られずにいたので、かなりグロッキーな状態で機織りしています。
まだ最初ですので長さは長過ぎないか、撮影や編集の方法はこれでいいかなどいろいろ疑問に思うことはありますが、皆さんとやり取りをしながらちょうどいい感じを探って行けたらと思っています。今回は8分くらいに仕上げています。導入編と思っていただいて、また色々ご意見戴けると嬉しいです。ありがとうございます＾＾

すごい！
8分があっという間でした。いつまででも見ていられそうです。
機織り場所に座って、巻き取る布を体にセットして、上下の糸を調節して、織り進めて…ここまでの丁寧な作業に見入ってしまいました。
それで、また一度立って三脚を別アングルから自分でセットし直しておられるんですよね？撮影の大変さに脱帽です。
以前、NHKの番組に「手仕事にっぽん」というのがありましたが、あれを彷彿とさせる動画でした。
機織り姿を見入ってしまい、字幕があまり読めなかったので、もう1回2回と繰り返し観たいと思います！

実は最初12分ほどあったんですけど、てんこ盛り過ぎたので少し減らしました。それでも少し長いかな（5分くらいがいいかな？）と思ったりもしてたんで、しっかり見せたい時は8分くらいならいいのかなっていう気もしてきましたmm 貴重な意見、ありがとうございます＾＾*
そうなんですよ、撮影が大変なんです。ものすごいアナログで地味なことをしています。でもオマキさんのことを考えると第三者に入ってもらって撮ってもらうっていうのがとても負担なんですよね…。私が全部するなら、特に日時とか決めなくていいし、体調悪いときはお休みにしたりできるんだけど、やっぱりそこは私だから許してくれているってところが大きくて（同性であることもいい点だと思います）、自分でするしかないという感じなんですよね。ホントはもっといいカメラを持った人とかに入って欲しかったりするので、ちょっと考えたこともあったんですけどね。一眼レフカメラのシャッター音が高齢の方には結構ストレスみたいなので、写真もコンデジの音がでないものを使ったりしています。でも1回の投稿で結構紹介しちゃったんで、ネタ無くなるの、結構早かったりして…＾＾；

わぁ～ なんというか、全身運動なのですね。私は機織りのこと全く知らず、こんなに力のいる仕事だとは思っていませんでした。お師匠さんも登場されて… とても貴重な映像だと思いました。

sevenさん、私も自分が始めたときは全く知らなかったんですよ。カラムシってなんの虫？ってレベルでしたしね＾＾； 昔は近所のおばあさんが機織りしてるのを見て育ったのに、その環境が無くなったということがとても残念なことだと思っています。その分、NETではありますが、「steemitのよよさんがそんなことしてたな…」と思ってもらえるように、少しずつ丁寧にお伝えして行きたいと思ってます。FBの友達にはそうやって結構洗脳😆？機織りに詳しい友達が増えてきたんですよ（最近あっちはお休みしてますがw）。この地機という身体が一体となって織るものは結構体力が要ります。帯だから硬く織る必要があるので余計ですね。反物の場合はここまで力強く打ち込みません。
このシーンの師匠はいい塩梅でしたね＾＾ 夏だしたまにとってもラフな格好で現れたりされるんで、そんなカットはNGで使えません😂
I didn't think I would sit through the whole video but I did in the end and I'm glad I did. It is so interesting to see you work and the satisfaction to weave your own cloth must be so great. How long did it take you to weave that 20cm?
Hey dear! Thank you so much for stopping by, I'm glad to hear like that from you😆!! Yeah... actually for me, weaving part is the last mission... I mean preparing thread takes lots of time, and weaving is only 1 week. So this is the final stage for me and when I finish this... yeah... I feel relieved. Well, it's depend on the width how much I can weave, it took around 2 hours to weave 20 cm because I need cut some fibers with small scissors like I'm doing in this video. I wove another 2 obi before this, the width was around 15 cm, almost a half of this, it took only 2 days to finish it... means around 20-25cm per hour I could weave :)

お昼食べなが見ました :) 私は出来上がった布を縫うばかりで、機械で作られた布ではあるのですが、おおもとをたどると yo-yo さんが作っているようにして作られるのですよね。
コンテンツ自体とは関係ないのですが、ひとつ思ったことがあります。私は基本的には「分散型 yeah!」という立場なのですが、visibility と monetizing の点からはYouTubeを利用してもいいのかなと思いました。どこか気にならない場所に広告を入れる形で。
大好きなYouTubeヨガのまりこ先生（面識も何もないのですが、時々動画を見るうちに親がわいてしまって！）の動画にもぽつぽつ広告が入っていますが嫌な感じではないんですよね。まりこ先生の動画にはお世話になっていてきちんとお金をかせいでほしいですし。

そうですね、ヨーロッパも似たような設定の機があるんですが、歴史的にはタテ型の竪機（たてばた）が多いように思うので、これからまた勉強したいと思います。
コンテンツの件もありがとうございます。そうなんですよね、今回ビデオの編集をしながらこれを作っても1週間しか対象じゃないんだよな…とちょっと思ったりもしました。でも自分の研究や発表のためにどっちにしてもする必要がある作業なので、編集してみてもらえるものを持ってるのはいいよなと思ってるところです。
Yogaのビデオ、見てきましたw 私もファンの先生のビデオにお世話になっているのでよくわかります。Youtubeについては考えなくもないんですけど、研究の要素が強いことと、やっぱり地域の人との関係性などがあって、今のところはちょっと難しいかなと思っています。
でも今回投稿してみて、長さであったり音声やBGMのことであったり、色んなことを考えることができたのでその点については良かったなと思っています。また色々ご意見いただけると嬉しいです。ありがとうございますw
