Some curious observations about Steemit over the last few days
As the price of steem triples or even quadruples, I've noticed the impact that the price is having on the platform and my interactions with people here.
My votes are worth more
Despite me delegating 96% of my steem to other people, my voting power continues to climb. My voting power has remained constant as a result of me delegating any steem I do collect. So as the price of steem climbs, it appears that our voting power also climbs too. That is great news for everyone, especially the plankton and minnows who are working to build their influence.
With the sharp increase, a significant spread happened between Steem and SBD
I'm sure everyone noticed, but there were times that I traded a single SBD for ten steem! What took me over a month to build up a million vests in my first month here on Steemit, I have been able to build up five million more in the last month. Even now, the spread is about 4:1, so it is still a great time to build up steem if you want to increase our influence on this platform. My goal is ten million by January. If I accomplish that, then my account will be a dolphin and I would have enough steem to bring on another 3 or 4 Stewards of Terra Mater. As it stands I now have six! What the system does with the unused steem
Over the last few days I noticed that my totals would increase by about .001 steem every 20 minutes or so. At this rate I calculated that I am receiving about .16 steem a day automatically. I did some research and it turns out that the steem pool that people draw from when they upvote does not get emptied. When there is extra steem, the pool then distributes that left over steem based on the amount of shares (mvests) that you have. So as your mvests increase, so too does the amount of steem the system gives you if there are left overs. I noticed this increasing with the sharp increase in the price of steem. I don't know how the system algorithms work, but it seems to me that as the price increases so too does the size of the pool, or perhaps people are voting less right now. Either way, steem will flow into our wallets when there is leftover steem.
So I hope that helps. Just a few observations that I have found over the last few days. If anybody has anything more to add, please feel free. I'm just exploring how this system works and sharing the research that I found. I hope it helps with our experience here.

How did you change 1 SBD for 10 steem i need to do same?
If you go into the market and the price is sitting at about 0.1, then you can by 10 steem for 1SBD. However the price is sitting at 0.27, so you cannot get 10, but perhaps you will get a little over 4 now. All depends on what the ratio is between the price of steem and SBD.

In the past. I was not interested in voting power because my account was very weak. But now I've noticed this, but I didn't know how to control the voting power. Because it's so much down and fast and it takes a lot of time to reach 100%. I'm trying not to use full voting power... But there are some posts that deserve 1000%..... like this post

I hear you. It is not like Facebook voting. I have been trying to hold off of voting for a few days just to recharge myself. Tomorrow I will start again, but I gave your comment a little bump. :) It does take a level of self-governing to learn how to govern the voting power of the avatar. That is for sure! Good practice on self restraint. :)

Pertinent post wwf. As for me, I notice no difference... my vote even at 100% power is worth $0.00 and even after the changes it still is worth $0.00
Maybe one day I'll have a footprint big enough to notice, I'm trying to get quality posts out there, so hopefully growth will come.

How your prediction STEEM
You asking me to predict where the price of steem will be in the future? It will go up and down a number of times over the next 12 months. But my biggest prediction is that people will start flooding here so that we can start interacting with one another without censorship or constraints. Facebook and other centralized corporate media platforms are squeezing the people and they will respond by walking away. I read that Steem now has 500,000 accounts and about 30,000 - 40,000 daily active users.
My prediction is that 2018 will see this number double at least. My stretch prediction would be 200,000 active users by this time next year. That is more important to me than the price as I am here to share ideas!
Ideas are priceless and there is no way we can put a price on them or the impacts those ideas will have on our lives and spiritual development.
I've never been a regular poster on fb or any other social media site, and though I used to mindlessly browse I recently was able to detach myself from that. It felt like a weight coming off. After a few months off of fb/the internet, coming on to steemit again at the suggestion of my neighbor @lyndsaybowes has already in less than a week filled me with more of a sense of community than fb ever did. I'm really enjoying reading other people's posts and seeing people read mine and enjoy them. I feel like I have lots of unconventional knowledge to share, and I hope to learn so much here on steemit too! Thank you for your educational posts :)
Bravo. I felt the exact same thing. I find here it forces me to sit and think about what I am writing about where facebook ended up being a mind dump with no thought. At least that is what I felt from other peoples posts. I look forward to reading what you have to share and I am glad you are enjoying my posts. :) <3
We have done a bit of migrating here at freedompoint. This seems to be the best olantform for sharing ideas. It is the positive feedback we get that is so encouraging. Make us all want to do more and better.

The increasing price of STEEM helps a lot...it helps all around.
Yes our votes are worth more which gets people excited and motivated. Of course, of late, we also see appalling behavior on here too.
People should be using this sweet spot to power up. This is a gift to all minnows and dolphins. Many want to talk about things being unfair, here is a chance to get a much larger payout than normal (because of SBD) and power up.
I hope all take the suggestions here and power up.
