From a BIT FAT, to a FITBIT.... Can it change the way I do things?

Yes that's me. A very overweight yet handsome, bearded, bloke, having just completed another 13.1mile run.

I used to post regular updates on my running and weight loss goals, but incase you hadn't even noticed, they stopped a long time ago. That's not to say I've given up on the dream of one day being able to look down and see my toes rather than just a belly, but Ive just gone and lost all motivation AGAIN.

I'm no fan of "modern" technology..... That's not to say I don't appreciate some advances more than others. I suppose what I mean is, I don't like all this modern technology that TRACKS your every movement. "Smart" metres in the home to keep an eye on your gas/electric consumption! Facebook somehow knowing what I want to buy and showing me advertising even though I've never searched for that item, just talked about it (are they listening??)!! All singing, all dancing mobile phones that let's everyone know where you are and what you're doing 24/7!! "ALEXA" turning your lights on and off..... You know what I mean?!?!

And then just like a total hypocrite I go and pick up a second hand one of these:

Apparently this is a "fitbit" - charge 2....

Being a complete newbie to this smart watch fad, a colleague in work said they had this watch going spare and I was welcome to use it.

For the 10,000th time I'm going to try and lose some weight. I'm hoping that by having this aid at my finger tips it will help me monitor and motivate me better.

It does have a few nice features:

The watch has a built in step counter which I can link to my #actifit account, so now I don't have to keep remembering to start it.

It has a sleep tracker, so I can see how badly I sleep and how much 1/2pint keeps me up through the night. Funny enough, last night was the first time in 4 months he slept ALL through the night. It won't always look this good.

It monitors my resting heart rate and will keep tracks of all my activities all whilst checking my cardio fitness.

So let's give this a go and see if it can help. I'm going to go look for my motivation and hopefully go out for a joy later today and test it out.

Well, I am feeling this post for sure. Especially as I am headed to the hotel pool feeling like an overaged whale. Good luck trying again. 🤗

That's great and motivational for others too.

Looking at you, its very difficult to run hardly even 5 miles. But 13.1 mile i9s really a big achievements
