The car is broke, the bike is...
The washing machine has some issues and my house tumbles apart.
I learned to bake with an oven without thermostat. My oven its temp only increases the longer it burns. I need to check it out every 10 minutes which does not do my bakery any good but hey it works.
With some tricks, I manage to make the washing machine operate and I just repaired the bike my kid had an accident with this morning.
I learned through the years to repair a lot and frequently do a better job as those so-called professionals who charge me a lot for just looking at it but seldom repair.
Already as a child, I repaired my radio and record player. If I can avoid a high bill or it is good to throw away there's only a win if I can do it myself.

Apart from sticking things together with glue, I'd have no idea how to repair anything.

I started taking things apart that were broken when I was 3-4 years old... my dad said he woke up to me fixing the VCR which hadn’t been working because I wanted to watch “Land Before Time”... kinda been a thing ever since and I have plenty of scars as evidence ... things I won’t touch anymore have to do with house wiring LOL I have shot myself across the room one to many times and the last the doc said I was lucky to have someone disconnect power otherwise I most likely would have perished.... I was playing with an illegally installed grow up that kept shorting out and found out how the hard way 😅
You were a discoverer at a young age. Good you do this and the house wiring and illegal stuff you better let be. It is good you are still around.

I think my kitchen lamp's been broken since summer. I have a bed lamp as a replacement that. It's a problem when the electrician haven't time. I don't like paying high bills, but I I am afraid of electricity.
I remembered that you can get step-by-step instructions on youtube
You think it is the lamp or the wire?
It isn't so difficult to change a lamp. Electricity you can switch off.

I have added something to the fact that you can get step-by-step instructions on youtube.
I already bought the lamp, but you have to connect the wires and that's too dangerous for me, because I don't know my way around.
@suntree Looknat how the wires are connected now. This is reallybeasy even my kids can do it. Just switch the power off and nothing can happen.

I highly respect that you and your children can do this. I don't dare go on the wires. I'm too scared I could make a mistake and maybe burn the house down.
Just to make you feel better.. if you switch the power off it can not burn down. How about asking someone else? Neighbour or family? I thought about it but I doubt you can call an electrician for that with us. 💕
I don't like to ask. At some point it will be repaired. I don't care.
