In an earlier poll I asked if the most active Steemians are ill.
I received a response (thank you all) but it brought me to the next question.
How well do you know your fellow users, your followers, your upvoters?
By now it is not a secret most users only come here to post, earn and leave.
They do never or rarely comment or read and comment.
For writers it is not encouraging to be here if the only comment you receive is given automatically by a bot or host of a contest (if you join a #mittwochsquickie / #wednesdayquickie you receive an automatically comment).
Yes, we all want to be seen, receive some response once in a while. It is encouraging and makes this platform what it should be social, a good place to kill time.
Do you know your fellow Steemians at all? Something about their life, personal situation, likes, dislikes, if they are ill?
- Yes, I read what they write and comment and am open for a chat.
- Yes, the ones I meet in real life
- No, I am here to have fun not to listen to someone's misery
- Yes, we meet on Discord but I do not comment
- No, I have no time to read all the stuff written but I give an upvote.
- Yes, but I do not know what to answer so I vote only.
- No, I have doubts about what is written.

Da hast Du recht aber ich gkaube Du kennst mich trotzdem schon.ziemlich gut. Du kannst auch ruhig faul sein und brauchst nicht zu übersetzen. Wichtig ist, dass es gmhier Spaß macht. Ein bisschen unterhalten gehört schon dazu. Für mich ist es wieder mehr arbeit andauernd mein keyboard um zu schalten in verschiedene Sprachen.

I don't get that much time to read all the posts. It's not possible to cover up everything like posting, commenting, curating and switching between dapps and front ends. But I do upvote occasionally to most of the people I follow.
Your engagement level is really really high. I sometimes wonder how you manage so much time! LOL
By now I have a certain way of working. I try to answer comments early in the morning before my children go to school with Steemreply. That really goes fast.
Next I try to read some posts and comment/vote. I follow a tag or just take the first 10 I see.
Later I try to write, post and schedule.
At the end of my day I try to read more posts. It depends on if I follow a certain tag or which app I use what I read.
It is true you cannot know/meet everyone and not each of us is willing to share the private life but if you read you can know a lot. Besides of this I have a good memory. If I can not respond on comments for 4 days I can in most cases still remember what the post was about. My hours here are reduced a lot. No long evening/nights busy to catch up.

For example I know that @glenalbrethsen's mother passed away 9 days ago (on 2020.01.10). He published a blog post about it 1 day later.

If you read and know a few it is already way more as most do. Good to hear there are who are open for a chat.
I know as I just started here I felt like an intruder leaving a comment or responding on comments given. It is something you have to learn too.
Thanks to the contest I host I know a lot about people's life but also because of the way how they write.

I do try and read what I vote
But there have been days I vote first with coming back to read when I have time
Then there are some I read but don’t have a comment and leave with an upvote
I am not much on discord
Or if I do get on, I am trying to catch up on all that I missed
I find it hard to engage on discord as it is real time and I tend to get distracted with real life and leave conversations hanging so after a couple of tries I stopped 🤦🏽♀️
But I do know some Steemians and that’s what keeps me here 😊
It is good to hear you read what you vote and you know people here and they are the reason you come back.
Discord is hard for me to load with my connection. It it's slow I can't use it. I only use it to leave a message for one or two Steemians. To be honest I find it chaotic and as I just started here I didn't feel welcome. Mainly the same people talk and if it comes to group chats it is not my thing.
