I wonder who came up with that word. It doesn't sound nice to me.
The only thing, I should say person, it reminds me of is Captain Peacock....
He was one of the characters in the BBC One tv series
"Are you being served". I loved that series especially Mrs. Slowcombe with her hair. That hairdress was favourite for many years. Former queen Beatrix always kept it long after my mother and the rest of the female population changed it into something that fitted more to the new century.
Mrs. Slowcombe had fascinating haircolours and the blue and pink ones reminded me of one of my grannies who had that at times too, if the hairdresser made a mistake.
Captain Peacock was a bit of a moody man not really in for fun. I have no problem remembering him, his face, how distinguished he was. He (the actor Frank Thornton) died at the age of 92 in London. That was in March 2013, by now nearly seven years ago.
I wonder if people eat peacock. It looks like chicken or turkey to me.
`"Pauw, pauw, pauw, ik ben lekker mooier dan jou" (peacock, peacock, peacock, I'm prettier than you) is a dutch saying. If you say it the pauw (peacock) spread it's tail feathers to show he looks way better as you.

I remember that show. It was a staple next to Doctor Who for my Mom when I was a kid (in US). I have always remembered how Peacock was always so proper and SLowcomes crazy hair. I feel like that was what led a bunch of older women to color their hair all crazy colors in the 80s. Also the single room for the set of the show must have saved them a good bit of money!
It was one of the better shows I saw for sure. The first episode started September 8, 1972! I never saw women paint their hair that way..and my granny would have never done it neither my mother. My granny had grey hair and I believe they kind of bleached it. If it was done wrong the hair didn't became white but pink or blue. 😄😅💕
HAH! THAT'S right! The perms would sometimes color the hair if messed up. My grandmother and her sister got perms ALL THE TIME and I remember them having some wild colors when the perm didn't set right.
