Can you explain why earnings decreased by 40% since we get paid in SBD?

Steem, SP, SBD, earnings...

I still don't get it.
As I joined Steemit, this platform, it all was earned:

  • Steem
  • Steem Power and
  • SBD (Steem basic dollar)

I was told 1 SBD stood for 1 US dollar.

The payout of SBD stopped and we only earned Steem and SP.
If you do not power up 100% it says your earnings are divided 50-50.
It was not quite equal divided, my SP was always a bit more.

What changed and why?

  • Steem is no longer earned unless someone transfers it directly into your wallet!
  • SP is earned and you can only lay hands on it if you power down and wait 13 weeks.
  • Upvotes/earnings are paid in SBD only.

As I just checked the market I noticed 1 SBD is 0.21 US dollar. This is exactly the same value as 1 Steem.

But... no matter how I calculate my "amount" of earned Steem is not paid out in SBD. It is not even close to 50%, not even 25%. It is 10%!
Can anyone explain to me how this is possible, what changed and how come this big change is not told to the users? Didisn't new Steem start with a newsletter and said it was so much better as the old Steem?

Can you explain to me, and other Steemians, why the payments decreased?
As new Steem started I said soon we will no longer be rewarded for posting here. Is this the start of it?

  • Ned took the money

  • It is part of the deal as Steemit was sold

  • New Steem no longer exists so no newsletter

  • The reason for earning less is... (Please, let me know!)

  • Other, .... (Please, share your opinion)

Answer the question at dpoll.xyz or here. I appreciate your vote and explanation and with me many other Steemians.

SBD is US$0.85 right now. It should have been US$1 as of yesterday.
But I did notice that the liquid Steem payout is a lot less than what it should be.

It went a bit above $1 USD after the announcement that Steemit had been sold to Justin Sun. Steem also went up to $0.30. It came back down. It looks like it was just a momentary boost because of all the hype.

There's no longer a Steem payout.
And the value is dropping more and more.

We can always sell SBD on the market.

Because most of the Steem blockchain users are focusing only on their own blog posts, and they do not care about other people's blog posts. The majority of the users are selfish and greedy.
This is backed up by statistics. Nowadays there 30-32 000 daily active users, 40 000 (or even more) blog posts per day, but the average number of comments is only around 3. I relatively actively interact with others, but no matter what I do, what I post, what I write about, how I write, almost no one cares about my posts. Most of the upvotes comes from bots and from eSteem Points (ESTM) boosting.
Without eSteem Points (ESTM) boosting, my posts would probably not earn a single cent in many cases, because the posts would not reach the payout threshold ($0.02).
If I post on Busy.org, then the upvote from them can also push my posts over the payout threshold ($0.02).

If you are able to delegate you can earn with that too but what I do not understand is why that what I earned is not laid out. With paid out I me 50% for me Nd0% upvote.

Thanks, but I am already a member of the curation and the engagement league since months. You (and everyone else) earn less amount (probably/most likely), because nowadays the value of the Steem is much less than the value of the Steem Dollars (SBD).

I don't know where you got your numbers, but as I'm typing this, according to coingecko, 1 Steem is 0.21 USD, and 1 SBD is 0.86 USD. So 1 SBD is roughly 4 Steem.

SBD is supposed to follow the US dollar but it hasn't in a long time. It was above 1 USD for a little while just after the announcement that Steemit had been sold to Justin Sun, but it came back down. The price of Steem also went up to around 0.30 USD right after the announcement and came back down.

I don't know why they changed the payout to be in SBD only instead of dividing it into Steem and SBD. I only just noticed it today.

Thank you for the information.
What is coingecko?

It's since two weeks now Steem is no longer paid. I host a contest and need to figure out how to keep paying the rewards.

If SBD has 4x the value of Steem I still have a way lower pay out of what I eared with upvotes.

Thank you for your vote.
I guess the value will drop more just like I noticed is the case with other cryptocurrencies.

I don't know..

Neither do I but I will find out about it somehow. I guess once I did everything changed again, we lost all our Steem and are Troners. 😁

The peg cannot be maintained of late its been over and above 1 dollar on the chain and rewards are calculated with I think 3 day moving average so it gets pretty messy. I make it easy for myself and set everything to 100% powerup. I'm not interested in SBD until steems price moves above $1, give me the cheaper one and give me more of it lol

I understand it means I need a better connection to check the value.
I thought it was written in Stees policy SBD is always with 1$. Did they change that?

I need Steem to pay the prizes for contests I host. If I 100% power up I need to buy Steem which I already did enough.
Happy day, thanks for voting/sharig your opinion.

in my opinion too much liquid steem make decrease the price. So Steem blockchain need generous whale to buy million Steem or buy million dollar so liquid steem will lack so it can be a trigger to increase steem price. If we see price from esteem wallet the steem price is @0.21 and SBD is $0.87 as i screen shoot.

As I looked at the market this morning it said 0.21 Can you tell me where you saw this and explain to me how to change into Steem or sell?

This is the recent price in the market said that 1 SBD equal 0.22 Steem. Please see it .
yghl00.png
1 SBD = 0.22 Steem. It mean 1 SBD equal 4. 22 Steem
! Steem = $ 0.21
So 1 SBD equal $ 0.9
We can convert SBD to STeem

Thank you very much. I will see if I can do that to continue hosting my contest and donate. If not I I if I lose all because I do not swap, I need to quit with it.
