031820 - Media makes sick

Itchy eyes.

I fell asleep with it and woke up with it which means I am still awake early and leave my bed. The allergies are back and probably remain for the next months. My kid joined me sniffing and sneezing.

I mowed a part of the lawn again.
My eyes were tearing but at a certain point, the sneezing stopped.

I spoke to some friends and it for sure takes a lot of time and energy.
My eldest sent me an article about "how people are controlled with fear of the Coronavirus" and asked what I thought about it. I can only agree with it. Closed borders, everyone staying inside is the solution to all problems governments have to deal with these days: migrants, economic crisis, pollution, nationalism, discrimination, traffic jams, overpopulation, lack of teachers, the force to be vegan, etc.

The facts:

• each year people die from the flu, we do not know how many because we don't care.
• each day people die
• each day in Italy 90 people die of medical mistakes only (wrong meds, procedure, etc). How many more die daily with a population of 61,000,000 or more? Italy isn't the source of everything but those who visited the country and kept traveling.

My fear for the loss of freedom is bigger as the fear to get sick.

It beats me why people should stay inside, are not allowed to be with more as three but at the same time flight companies keep flying up and down with people to bring them back home. What is the point? You liked it for a holiday so you can stay longer too.

I am tired of the media and start caring less.

The stories told are not special or unique, not typical.
"Gasping for breath is terrible", an ex patient tells to the newspaper that has more in common with a gossip magazine these days. So what? Thousands of people do so daily because of some disease, smokers, pollution, wrong medication, while suffering for pain or allergies, etc.
