Why do we need more transparency?

Yes, transparency Bot is presenting information that IS available on the blockchain, but NOT otherwise available on Steemit.

Transparency allows all of us who care about this platform to know what is going on, directly see how it affects us, become more educated as to what can be done and then; hopefully, act in a way that protects our platform for years to come.

As of 4/18/18, @transparencybot will begin upvoting random posts that use the #nobidbot tag and have not used bidbots on the post.
The number of random votes it does a day depends on its remaining voting power. Later on, a filter to select only authors with reputation's of perhaps 60 (or 50) and below may be incorporated, but for now it is wide open.

This is a non-profit initiative, all funds received by or delegated to it will be used directly for this mission only. No one, including myself is being paid for any service or product. Please consider supporting it by upvoting this post and/or the comments left by @transparencybot.

A VERY huge thank you to our delegators!

I'm kind of neutral on bidbots but I support a fair market and I don't think it's fair that investors get a lower ROI with bidbots than people like me.

You should reconsider your decision. I have. While I am and always will support transparency. What you are doing is shaming people who feel bad for partaking in a service that some can feel shameful to use. It's compared to calling out people who pay for sex or renting a lambo. It may become trendy for some and lots of people are going to do it but bidbots will have a negative shameful association when you have to buy something others who are better at producing content can get with hard work.

You should still keep transparency bot going. Just have it so people can summon it's services with a comment. This will put the flag on the person who summons the bot not you. This won't be spam as the service is for everyone to ask for. It could turn into a good thing for people to show their readers if they choose to. If the author has opted out just have the bot reply with this author has opted out.

I also want to see more transparency in witnesses. Can you please make the same bot show how much a witness or account delegates SP to bidbots. I understand this could push them to use sock puppet accounts. If they do, we can all see if a witness is removing steem from the platform and that has it's own consequences.

Just for giggles you should make a funny comment when someone asks how much a bidbot delegates to bidbots.
