Red Sky in Morning...
Earlier today I opened my eyes to an incredible sight. The sky painted with a myriad of pastel clouds and fiery red hues, with an old fisherman's lore stuck in my head, a foreboding of events to come.
Taking it for what it was without the silent sigils of doom, I angled fifty shots out of my second story window, attempting to capture a pristine sunrise. Whether it was the lore or the lemon of everyday life, this day has been challenging.
The dogs barking a few hours later, my mind surfaced from a dm to a banging outside that heralded a fierce twenty minute windstorm. With the FCC ruling hanging overhead, I was assured by two other posts that Steemit was going to hell on a Russian airliner built in Taiwan.
I went back to bed, then attempted hours later to channel my frustration into a post that should have been about giving thanks. It didn't work. It didn't work because I have too much worry about whether the internet will become just another state controlled media tool.
It didn't work because the post I meant to write was shadowed by doubt that Steemit will thrive if whales and minnows continue to work for their own self interest instead of for the community.
The post I slaved over yesterday ceased to materialize because it was doomed, not because I'm not grateful, but because I am inundated by the uncertainty that echos our present day reality. I see a platform where people I admire are powering down, sending out smoke signals of mistrust.
All the what ifs in life that make us hesitate to act, that question our belief in a common goal, that have us accepting a life of slavery in trade for the illusion of safety and prestigious material goods - these things are the enemy, the trap that has us accepting control after control from a government that wants to dictate the parameters of our belief.
Where then will we go? Back to a life we came here to escape from? On to the next imperfect dream? Sometimes we need to fight for what we believe in, to give thanks when there is little we have faith in. Focus on the good. Reach out to fix the not working so well.
Perspective is everything. And that sky was friggin awesome.
all photos mine except for @memeshappen
The second picture with the flock of birds is pretty awesome!
They're all really good, but that one is my favorite.
I don't know what's going to happen with the internet, I can only hope for the best. It seems the voices of the peasants don't mean much to the king and his princes...

The beauty mixed with fragility, the hope couched in real fears, the truth marked by action... we can only try to be the vehicles of the futures we desire.
