Cool Underground HipHop Series - Hilltop Hoods

I have't done my hop hop series for a few weeks now so lets get back in to it.
For this part of the series I would like to introduce one of my favorite groups, who are from the aussie hiphop underground and from my home town of Adelaide.

☠️ Hilltop Hoods ☠️

Growing up as a teen I can honestly say I was one of the first people to have their music.
I got it through my mate who knows them very well, and it was a cassette tape which had been dubbed so many times the quality was shocking. but it was raw under ground aussie hip hop and I loved it.
I was always hated at parties because I would chuck it on without asking, and people would get pissed off with me. It's funny looking back because now everyone seems to want to listen to them.

The Hoods formed in the hills of Adelaide in a suburb called blackwood.
They were founded by MC Suffa and MC Debris, and DJ Next.
Over the years they have grown in popularity, though their newer albums are nothing compared to their raw underground stuff. So naturally I have lost interest in their newer stuff.

Here are a few tracks I really love.

☠️ Hilltop Hoods - Matter of Time ☠️

This was the first ever track I heard from Hilltop Hoods.
It is just pure raw underground which I love. This track is from their first album Matter of Time(that's if you don't count back once again as an album as it was a single)
Suffa and Pressure are outstanding MC's and have been since day dot.
DJ Next just rips it up with the scratching too. I was sad when Next left the group.

The amount of times I have played this track would be in the thousands easily. You know this album is underground when you see it's only had 4,000 views in 3 years.
Real hiphop heads know where it's at :)

☠️ Hilltop Hoods - 1979 ☠️

Here is more of their raw underground hip hop.
You just can't beat tracks like this, which were made purely for the love of the art and not for the glitz and glamour.
It's no surprise this track comes from their Matter of Time album, as that whole album is fantastic.

It's a shame that they drifted away from producing raw underground like this and sold out as many of us real hip hop heads would put is.
Still we got some fantastic tracks like this one :)

☠️ Hilltop Hoods - The Soul Of The Beat ☠️

I love this track and I love the way it starts, probably because I'm a tech head.
"Look, ten stories below if you ever try finding me,
I'm the one with rhymes so hi tech, I write in binary"
Suffa MC has some really intelligent rhymes, love his stuff.
This is more of that raw underground hiphop before they went main stream. It's from their album Left Foot Right Foot and I highly recommend you check it out.

☠️ Hilltop Hoods - Immortal MC's ☠️

Lets look at one more of their tracks, Immortal MC's.
I love this track it's a really groovy sound to it, and the lyrics are great.
I love the way they do the last verse, Suffa and Pressure rhyme a sentance each and it combines so they are both rhyming the verse.
More fantastic raw underground hip hop. This album is amazing too so check it out :)

I do like tracks from their other albums but only 2 or 3 tracks from the whole album and they just don't do it for me like the underground stuff.
