Introduceyourself: Caught in the web of a developing country's quagmire, a young Nigerian quest for growth and development.

##Greetings Fellow Steemians
I am deeply awed by my discovery of this unique community and must say that I am extremely happy to belong here. I came across steemit from the audacious recruitment campaign scheme of @euronation, as led by @eurogee, @smyle, @sweetestglo-eu, @bob-elr, @drigweeu, @dray91eu, @edith4angelseu, @jeaniepearl, @adore-eu. I am carried away by the way these guys go about their life; their altitude and attitude is what I envy when it comes to writing skills, speech and intelligence that I am persuaded to be like them hence my interest in steemit.

I am here to make new friends across geographical boundaries, learn and build up my skills and I hope fellow Steemians will help me improve on my writing and speaking skills.

##My Person
I am Cookey Cooley, a 28 years old pragmatic, smart and intelligent young Nigerian. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering from Akwa Ibom State University. I am also currently studying for a degree in Law from the National Open University of Nigeria, Lagos. At the same time I am doing my compulsory one year National Service in Anambra State.

##My Dreams and Aspirations
I have always wanted to be an activist and rights crusader. I always speak againIMG_20180117_090909.jpgst injustice whenever occasion demanded and can remember having issues with the authorities in my Nursery school through Primary school through Secondary school through University because I just couldn't hold my peace in the face of victimization, injustice and deprivation. Maybe this will explain my taking a degree in Law even after completing a degree in Engineering. In my university days I championed and campaigned for the commencement of academic activities in Akwa Ibom State University almost 3 years after the government through their political propaganda had said that the school had commenced academic activities not minding ugly truth that the admitted students were still at home years after been given admission. Aside these, I dreamt of making economic and political changes in my country by joining politics and building businesses.
I aspire to be amongst the next generation of young leaders who will pull Nigeria out of the brink of developmental collapse into the glorious dawn of economic, social, democratic and political greatness.

Despite my lofty dreams, it is saddening to know that the porous and mean nature of the Nigerian political sphere hardly give room for young people not to talk of those with my kind of radical, revolutionary, and development minded mindset.

##Frustrations
In a country where political recycling is the order of the day, old men and developmentally backward people in their late 70s are still holding public and government offices while the young and bright minds are turned into political and economic scavengers; businesses are owned by politicians and their associates with near absolute monopoly of some lucrative sectors. There is hardly room for ingenious startups due to lack of capital. Politically and socially, and dissenting voice or any voice speaking up is shut down by the ruling elites using state apparatus. These and many more triggered my frustrations and steamed up my burning desire to leave Nigeria for good and give up on the country.

##Yet there is Hope
Despite the foregoing, though political, social and democratic activists and crusaders are hardly allowed a voice here and young people are denied a chance to exhibit their innate potentials politically and economically, I found hope and God; believing that if a black man can lead America, that if a 38 year old person can lead France then one day the sun will rise on me and the young generation. My faith has being bolstered more by some positive minded Nigerians who believe that the young ones have something to offer and are now clamouring for both economic and political empowerment and inclusion of the youths resulting in political and economic opportunities opening up for the young ones. I choose to believe God that someday Nigeria will be great.

##Current State
Currently I am undergoing the one year compulsory National Service (NYSC) in Anambra State. I have a registered business name in Nigeria and I also run a Small scale poultry farm in my my home town. I am currently also working on a number of books about my country, Christian literature.

##Goals
I want to travel to United States of America to study for my Master and Doctorate Degrees in Engineering, also want to finish my law studies and be called to bar. I want to build my speaking and writing skills, build my political profile and eventually contest for and win the Presidency of my country: Nigeria and hence effect the positive changes we so much crave for. Before these, I want to build my businesses into National and Global brands by starting small like I have already started. I intend to run a foundation that will speak up and defend the voiceless, care for the indigent and less privileged ones and help build a better world.
Thank you so very much for taking time to read. May God increase you - Amen. Kindly support me: RESTEEM, FOLLOW, and UPVOTE.
