Hunter’s Point South Park Lookout

When I moved offices recently to my new location tight by the east river I was looking out the window one day and noticed a future across in Long Island City that I had not seen before so one morning I had to head over there and check it out, from across the water the structure to me looked almost like a style of an aircraft carrier, but let me show you some shots I got walking around it.

A little side note, Have you ever done this?

As I was looking through my photos in my yet to post folder I opened this one up and noticed some black specks in the sky, so I found the photo in Lightroom opened it up in photoshop so I could remove the black specks, and I could not find them, which is when I realized my second monitor needed a clean as the specks were on the monitor not on the photo!

And this shot is taken from the other side I am not sure who designed this but I do love the style of it,

I did read that part of the idea of the lookout is to give you a feel of being over the water even though your not and have been on it I can say they achieved that unless you look down from the edge of the platform

And a last shot from the same side of the platform as the first shot but taken from further away from it

It does remind me of a boat! At an angle that is. What a wonderful piece of space that is. Walking up to it - the view is spectacular. I love the way they try so hard to make nice spaces to enjoy the city.

I give them credit for creating so many green spaces and pretty spaces, pulling out all the stops just to achieve what is needed/wanted. Thank you for taking the time to go down and check it out. I really like it!

I am always cleaning my monitors. It is a habit. So, no, but that is kind of funny!

As always, have a most fabulous evening and Super Sunday!

Thanks for being the greatest guide on #SteemUSA!

I will go back there again its fairly new and they are building up wetlands around it, it was fairly dry and barren the day I went there, but it should be looking better now and well worth visiting again and I do love walks by the water.

The City does a great job with all the parks there all so well maintained and help me keep my sanity from working in what would otherwise be a concrete jungle.

I am glad you see the boat shape, when we were looking at it across the river from the office no one else saw that it looked like a boat lOL
I am terrible for cleaning my monitors I must give them both a proper clean tomorrow

Thanks for the tip but you really sis not have to :)

That is pretty awesome. I like the design of it as well. I could see them doing something like that near the river in the town down the road from me.

I have no idea who designed it but i love the style of it I must say

What a lovely lookout point, absolutely stunning photos of a beautiful city! It's great that one can still find places like this where one can slow down, take a deep breath and just enjoy the scenery, really lovely @tattoodjay!

Thanks I do love that the city has so many parks to get away from the concrete jungle, I enjoy my morning walks and will visit places like this again :)

noticed some black specks in the sky, so I found the photo in Lightroom opened it up in photoshop so I could remove the black specks

A problem I know well. Every so often either @catweasel or I will try to "remove a period" that shouldn't be there in something we've written ... or turn that semi-colon into a comma ... only to discover ... the problem isn't in the document. It's a fleck on the monitor screen.

Glad its not just me that has that problem, MY monitors are now nice and clean but not sure how long that will last LOL

Platform designed off the front of a ship, very impressive structure and great photography.

As for cleaning my screen, yes regularly never sure if it is the screen, the glasses or the eyesight LOL...

I am terrible for not cleanign my screen but just gave both of them a good clean now, and of course for me eyesight and dirty glasses sometimes comes into play :)

LOL

First thing to check... Is your monitor clean? Yeah, it has happened some times to me...

It is a really awesome location. Thanks for share and greetings my fiend.

Glad it snot just me, I cleaned those tow specks off last night and just gave both of my monitors a good clean this morning so hopefully I won't fool myself like that again for a while LOL

It does look like a boat. I like structures such as this because of how well though they are . It does stand out and at the same time blend in with the environment.

Love those clouds and everything else in every photo!

You probably need a new monitor, no? :D

I am glad others are seeing the similarity to a boat, my friends at work could not see it, yet it stood out to me LOL
Yes whoever designed this had a great vision and I love it, and will go back where when the gardens around it are more full, they were barren that day but are made a wetlands which I think is so cool

What a creative viewing platform! The benches are really in keeping with the style. As always, your photos are great.

Isnt it just I think the designer of it had such a cool vision
