How you like them tokens?

in #steem5 years ago (edited)

I have read a few posts from people "complaining" about how much work Steem is at the moment, like this one from @oldtimer. I wrote the complaining with quatations because it actually isn't complaining at all, nor is it really seen as a problem. There is just so much happening and so many interfaces and tokens popping up that it is getting very difficult to keep track of everything that is going on, let alone arrange activities to take full advantage of it all.

I was away when the #steemleo token was dropped a few days ago but, it was a decent idea to drop it on those who have already been staking up their PAL. I wonder if anyone is annoyed they sold their airdropped PAL was soon as they got it? As I have always said, stake will beat post earnings most f the time and in the future, stake will be increasingly used for airdrops for various tokens and most likely, they will also be tempered through an oracle for activity and behavior also.

It is getting very interesting isn't it? I have already given up on any thoughts of maximization of voting long ago because I vote manually and with the layers of tokens on top, it is getting increasingly hard. Then there is going to be the growing amount of tokens and the process that only some posts can earn on some, and it will be difficult to post across all interfaces. I am sure there are going to be many that automate a great deal and crosspost and repost consistently to try and take advantage of all the tokens, valuable or not.

Regardless, for those who are able to prove themselves to the community in whatever ways they can and gain support, it is likely that they are able to take a significant amount of tokens on the one post and essentially diversify relatively automatically. While people might be worried about the SPS and EIP taking STEEM earnings away, having any number of more voters could increase earnings significantly of native tokens on other interfaces.

There are PAL whales, orcas and dolphins that are not large Steem holders - There are LEO whales, orcas and dolphins who got airdropped on their PAL stake. What this means is that one account can essentially issue three tokens on one vote and currently at least, those tokens are not without their own value with PAL at about 0.5 Steem and LEO at about 0.25 of a Steem. That is significant and those who are holders of STEEM, PAL and LEO are actually issuing a great deal of value in one vote.

Do you see how quickly the game changes - or did you miss it? This is the expansion of the community that means that in time, no one person or likely even a bot is going to be able to maximize successfully and will instead have to have a strategy that isn't efficient. This creates opportunity for others as there is a loss of "energy" that can be utilized under a different strategy. In many ways, this increasing complication through interface and token means that there are taps and trickles opening up all over the platform.

The EIP brings in another layer of complexity and adds randomization to the vote values through potential downvoting and those who recognize their community responsibility and take part in even the most obvious targets, means that there is a tap back into the Steem pool that gets distributed again.

This increasing network will generate a whole range of experiences that while lucrative to some, will be completely uninteresting to others - this is the life of tribalism. But it isn't tribe against tribe, it is experience of interaction and content that attracts people who are interested in that particular content and community. It creates a freedom and the more people participate, the greater the value of any individual tribe grows.

Remember though, all of them are powered on the Steem blockchain and it is Steem that is going to be the core bandwidth allocation mechanism. From an investment standpoint, owning Steem is holding a title of a piece of the infrastructure that everyone is going to be utilizing. As I have said, own where the demand is going to be and that demand is going to arrive on Steem. Owning Steem not only is an investment opportunity like no other, it empowers the coming communities and offers them a playground where they can build for the best chance of success.

It is getting interesting out there. Can you keep up?

I love the way LEO dropped to those who'd demonstrated an affinity for PAL. Magnificent.

Yes it was a good move. It is a kind of rudimentary oracle of sorts but does the job well. I liked the way PAL did it also, so leveraging it is clever as essentially, those who sold - missed out :)

To be honest.... no.

I'm actually a bit surprised that PALNet and LEO are continuing to approach the sell wall. Wasn't expecting that to happen so soon. More value is coming in than going out, and a lot of the Steem transferring hands is getting powered up as well.

and a lot of the Steem transferring hands is getting powered up as well.

This is what I am hoping for as it creates a sink on both sides.

It has changed everything. One week of accumulating tokens and I can if prices stay the same make 5 x what I was before. This is crazy and the opportunities are here.

Yep, it is going to be a crazy ride if a few of these pan out.

Nope I can't keep up with anything. I have very little idea what's going on. I just keep finding all these tokens and as I'm still muddling along clumsily having exactly no idea what I'm doing and only doing it on one interface I'm just hoping those other tokens (i did the stakey thing with the leos while playing with steem-engine, steem-engine is useful XD) are being useful to someone somewhere if they have the "right" tags when I upvote x_x

This is me the last 25 years! :D

I think that there will be tools created to better manage these.. one day.

I got the steemleo airdrop. I was surprised until I saw the tribes column on steemspeak and I realized that this thing is going to be bigger than I first imagined. Right now I use palnet and steemleo in all my post tags section. There are others that I can't use because to me their topic specific. An example is SPT. This is meant for steemmonsters related posts as far as I am concerned.

The truth is I can't keep up and I don't plan to. I am simply looking for the token that suits me best.

Just remember that steemleo is meant for investment talk.

Hi
I think we are living through an important turning point in our history as a community and as a business. It’s an extremely exciting and busy time as development sprouts on the Steem blockchain like flowers in a dessert after a spring storm. The community cried for rain and the rain has come. It’s amazing.
Steem On!
Shortsegments

It is shaping up to be a very interesting 2019 indeed and I think the timing might be a big factor in this. Looking forward to getting hf21 out of the way do we can learn and move onto communities and smts

I appreciate the new life that is breathed into Steem :)

There is activity going on everywhere and I think soon it will be a place for influencers to build a home.

It is starting to get fun again. 😁

I agree completely.

Fortunately, I have the time at present and bit of IT nous to keep up, and I am enjoying what's happening here at present.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see more tokens issued based on the palnet model, or by doing what steemleo did. The second is actually a really good driver to make people consider staking and holding - good for everyone.

The only problem with dropping stake on PAL is that pal issued heavily to mods too. It will eventually lose sensitivity.

I wish had some time to at least read a bit more of what is going on.

I mentioned that to steemleo and they weren't concerned about the PAL mods being powerful their also.

Perhaps it would be useful to have that list though for future drops, or not if the tribe is moderated well and thrives :)

It is going to be a point of contention at a later date I am sure as in time, the reasons why will be forgotten.
