EUROVISION Song Contest 2022!
Hello my dear Steemians,
Those of you who love Music and regular once a year in May waiting for one of the favourite music contest have spent last night in front of Television watching EUROVISION Song Contest 2022 that this time took place in beautiful city of Italy Turin
As you might remember I am working nights this weekend therefore, had no time for show but @myskye has recorded the show and we just have watched it together. This time there were many good singers with beautiful voices and performance, many have deserved to be in top 10 but as always there are some who could be ranked higher but that is life and it is a contest, like we often say the participation is a goal.
When reviewing my favourites I want first of all, to Congratulate the Winner and this is Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra the group really deserve to be a winner. What I like most is the traditional costumes and the song, fast, some rap, instruments and positive energy! Great performance and winner of the hearts!

Sheldon Riley *the singer from Australia is amazing personality who as a child was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, that makes it difficult to persons to be a part of society, they have their own inner world and often struggle to integrate themselves in our normal crazy world. Luckily, Sheldon managed that, he is writing his songs, singing and also playing piano. He was wearing a funny face cover at the beginning of song, but took it off at the end. Great song and absolutely stunning voice and performance.

Nadir Rustamli performer from Azerbaijan with such interesting and beautiful voice, that has such wide spectrum of highs and lows, he can control it so well and the song choice was the best to show the voice in its whole beauty. Worth to listen.

Monica Liu is the singer from Lithuania performed a song in her mother language, such beautiful voice, the song reminded me french chanson and the way how he made her hair and also amazing dress made me think about the famous french singer* Mireille Mathieu. It is worth to watch teh video that is on the website the link is attached.*

Zdob şi Zdub is the group from Moldova with their funny and energetic performance, the live music with violin and accordion made my heart to melt. A lot of fun, great music so that nobody can have their feet still.

Chanel the singer from France and her dance-group is also something that you should not miss. Beautiful song and performance but also like we often say there is not only for ears but for eyes. Such beautiful body, dancing and of course costume.

Subwoolfer is the group from Norway performed with their funny song "Give That Wolf a Banana", the performers Keith and Jim were wearing their masks all the time so nobody knows how they look. It is worth to listen.

Good morning @stef1 My family and I had an Italian (Sardinian) brunch out in the sun on Saturday. Then we watched Eurovision live. I am glad that the Ukrainians won this year. They deserve it.
Hmmm, that sounds very delicious, for us Eurovision is also a family event, of course, this time it was exclusion, but normally we also have something only because it is very late, we have some snack or ice-cream :) I am also glad that it showed solidarity of Europe and at least some support even moral for Ukraine people.

I like the voice of Serbian Singer, but the topic of song because of hygienic measurement was not really something that I liked, maybe because I am seeing it on daily basis during my work too.
i agree with that....the main focus for me was the melody of the song....
I meant to put a bet on Ukraine winning the Eurovision months ago, I don't think it's about music at all just the popular or political vote hence why uk always comes last lol our music rly is not that bad, we might go up now and not be last every year since we sent quite a bit of aide.
I agree. It's always a political event. Since years neighbour countries vote for neighbour countries and to me it's clear Ukraine would win. It's therefore not worth watching.
Yeah I did mean to put money on it so long ago as so obvious. Poor old Uk always does so bad even if we acruallt have a good song. Let’s be honest the one with blue was pretty good! I think we should just stop bothering entering tbh and spend the money on something more worthwhile
It's no longer what it was. Perhaps it's a good idea to let go of it and let Eastern Europe or whatever country likes to join continue with it. If voting would make the difference the people weren't allowed to vote.
Uk has arguably the most popular music in the world and we barely get off last place hahah
That proves enough. The English language is more popular for sure.
I believe many already predicted that Ukraine will be a winner, at least it was already a winner of the hearts. It is often luck and often west European countries receive little but this time Sam was good, I am glad that he at least was higher voted.
No, it's not luck. The winner is known before they start.
As this contest started it was mainly west European countries and they voted for what sounds good. Rules were set. Since years even countries not being European join and Eastern countries stick together, vote for each other, it's all about politics.

I don't follow anything in relation to Eurovision for a number of reasons, but your post got me intrigued. So it would seem that these days it is trendy for performers to wear masks on stage? That is something new to me.
I know sometimes we do not watch, but this time there were many singers with good voices so we were intrigued too. I believe Sheldon, the Australian Singer was wearing a mask I think maybe he was too anxious, but the mask was really nicely decorated :)

I'm sure you mentioned masks in your post elsewhere, not just in the paragraph about Aussie singer.
And that photo of winners - there's that guy in the middle who's face looks almost like a mask.
So it seems that kind of thing is now trendy.
I didn't watch it. I noticed it's a political event and the talented never win. No surprise Ukraine won.
We enjoyed the songs and performers :)
