Member Spotlight (1).png

We're back with another 'Savvy Steemian' feature here at SteemSavvy!

This week we're featuring a guy that has been with SteemSavvy since literally...Day one! As one of the original members of the platform he's seen the good times and the slow times.

But throughout, he's stayed the course and has slowly been building his account over the past year...He just recently hit 'Minnow' status and deserves a round of applause for all his engagement and content on STEEM...

Ladies and gentlemen, meet...

@EricBurgoyne

1. How did you discover crypto as well as the SteemSavvy platform?

I discovered crypto a few years back when a company I was doing business with started their own coin and we started mining for it. That coin did not work out but got me interested in browser mining. I lost interest for awhile after that, but got interested back in it a little over a year ago now.

I was talking late night with the founder of SteemSavvy (@JonGOlson) and he talked about his plan to open SteemSavvy and I thought that it was a great Idea to help new comers get off to a good start. I wish there had been a SteemSavvy around when I first started.

2. You are a big fan of faucets. Can you explain why you think this is a great way for newer Steemians to start building some crypto equity?

It is a great way to get some money into Steem without having to take it out of your pocket, being disabled on a very fixed income it is not easy to have spare cash. So it is a great way of building up Steem with little cash. It is work you have to be dedicated to keep at it but you can over time get a few hundred as I have to put into Steem.

3. Where do you see STEEM in....5 years? Why?

I see Steem being a top 20 if not a top 10 coin. The reasons being, the people on Steem! During this down time we have been adding a number of apps every week, so many that I cannot keep track of them all. The community as a whole works well together to promote Steem and support new projects to make sure they make a go of it.

4. You recently hit a very nice milestone of 500 Steem Power...How important is it for Steemians to put some 'skin in the game' during their journey?

It is very important to put some in. I put in everything from the facets and a couple of hundred in fiat as well. It would have been a lot easier if I could have put more fiat in at the start, but you can only do what you can. It just takes longer and you have to work harder the less fiat you put in.

5. What would be your biggest tip to a new Steemian looking how to grow their Steem Power?

Do the training in SteemSavvy! It will save you the headaches we had when we started because back then there was no all-in-one guide to help you over the bumps.

6. What is your favorite Steem dApp and why?

Hands down it is @Partiko !! It has been a real game changer for me. I can keep up with everything that is going on with Steem when I am not at home. Example, my better half got sick and had to go in every 12 hours for a I.V. so sitting waiting for her to be done I could comment on blogs, write a blog watch videos and on Partiko.

7. Biggest 'lesson' learned while in the SteemSavvy training and /or on your Steem journey?

Boy, that is a really tough question there has been so much to learn over that last year and a bit.... I think it would be the community, they for the most part all really love Steem and are willing to help each other meet their goals.

Thank you so much @EricBurgoyne ! Appreciate the answers and all the massive support you have shown SteemSavvy since we launched.

As part of being featured as a Savvy Steemian here at SteemSavvy, we've delegated 25 Steem Power that is yours for as long as you remain on STEEM. Thank you for believing in SteemSavvy as well as the entire Steem blockchain!

I have joined the Steem Savvy training and thoroughly enjoying working my way through the videos. They are presented really well, I must say, easy to listen to and follow and I love the enthusiastic tone. Thank you for putting together that training course.

Another good post in the series! And I have to agree, the community is one of the biggest assets STEEM, and SteemSavvy, have!

Looking forward to #3! :)

Building the STEEM blockchain with Savvy solutions!

Thanks man. Yeah these are a blast to do. Love featuring these amazing people who have helped build SteemSavvy :)

It has been one heck of a journey thus far! So many people involved now, with more joining daily. Good people, making things happen!

Great interview! If you had not stated he just got to be a Minnow, I would have thought he was a much larger account given the way he engages and participates on the streams! Great job!
