3,110 Reps From 8 Steemians After 8 Days - Join The Steem Daily 100 Rep Fitness Challenge Of 50 Push-ups & 50 Squats! - Day 9

I was supposed to post my rep video EARLY yesterday, but got lost on my two year birthday post and had to sprint out the door to catch a bus I just made. It's the first time I've ran since starting my squats and my legs felt GREAT. The bus driver made fun of me when he saw the guy in the dress shirt sprinting up the street to the stop while he was at a light, but I made that damn bus!

I had a wild night in a Dominican neighborhood with baseball teammates and had to sleep the day away today, so here's my post, LATE. There's something special about latin culture and its energy I've always appreciated, and I got a good reminder of that.

The most important thing:

I did my reps yesterday before I went out at a personal record of 3:04!! I dropped 33 seconds by breaking my reps up better thanks to @rmsbodybuilding's good advice! You can see me start to crack a shocked and proud smile at the end of the clip.

To the participants, I'll be posting day 10 (today's reps) later tonight. I have to run to a BBQ party down the street now, but the reps will be done. Please reply to this with your reps noting that my late post probably made this confusing with your time zones. Act as if I posted this at 3 AM EST earlier today.

To people new, see the intro link below. We'll be opening up to other exercise types in due time. I'm trying to keep this simple for now to get everyone assembled and on the same page.

What's the challenge? 50 push-ups (modified if needed) and 50 air squats. See my video. If you want to do a different ratio or split, that's fine. Just reach 100 reps from these options and reply below with an affirmation, pic, link, or video. We're on the honor system.

If you can't do all of the push-ups, I know you can do squats for the rest. Get involved!

Highlights:

  • My time of 3:04 with no excuses.

My Reps:

I was in such a rush to do these that I did them without any shoes, and early enough where I was expecting neighbors to be in the hallway to catch me.

Breaking the first sets up as 3 sets of 10 each really helped me save some strength for the final push-ups I usually waste too much time resting for. I thought the position switching would waste time, but this actually helped me a lot. Try it out!

I also tried to keep @michealb and @rmsbodybuilding's advice my hands in closer with my palms not turned out. This helped me isolate better.

Tonight's fuel was a salmon burger and salad.

To any interested Steemians who want more info/background: *Please see this link from the kickoff post for details.

Everyone please support and encourage the team here. They're working hard to build a community the hard way. It's about the bigger picture.

Make sure you go 90 degrees with your elbows and legs, with your back straight, on each rep. Feel free to help others if they look like that can use some advice.

Again, this is just a baseline of activity for the day. This will be far from all I do on most days, and the same can go for you.

Markets and spirits may be down now, but our health should always be on the rise.

We don't always need an app and tokens for everything, or to worry about things we can't control.

Worry about what we can control. Let's put the human back into fitness here and you will see and feel the results.

Rep on,
@steemmatt

P.S. - Please use the fitnesschallenge tag if you can.

DAMN YALL KILLING IT!
I had to gout of town for a workshop!
I'll try to get some reps in tomorrow if I can! :)

My comment on yesterdays was meant for here...but yeah, I did 100 squats and 25 pushups in 5 hours and 16 minutes tonight. (lol)

I'm not in shape any more...that's for sure. I'm like 8 days late but better late than never! Amirite?! That time though. You'd think I did really, really slow reps

Welcome the F back!! It's a start and you will improve. I'm glad that you pushed through to get it done. You should be proud of that and looking forward to the soreness tomorrow since your body is now activated to grow.

Will definitely be sore tomorrow because I'm sore now. My main focus needs to be to get rid of this belly though, so cardio, squats and situps should do the trick. It feels good but the work ahead seems exhausting. I want immediate results :P

Try to cut out some calories while your metabolism gets activated again. As long as you are consistent and eat/drink well, your body will adapt to show you it likes the new game plan. Don't look at it as an exhausting task. Think of it as putting in the effort to make positive changes and take care of yourself. Don't feel pressure to do this challenge every day, but definitely try to get it in as much as you can. You need to feel some pain to gain here.

It feels like I'm starting to work out the kinks.

Time: 5:03
Pushups: 13-13-12-6-6
Air Squats: 25-25

PS. I sent you an encrypted memo.

My time is improving too. The more you do, the easier it'll get the next time. I see the transfer in my wallet, but can't seem to see the memo when I'm logged in there. Is there another way to view it? I thought memos are visible when logged into your wallet. For some reason, I can't reveal my memo key in my wallet now to try to use that no matter what level of password I enter to try to reveal it.

Weird, maybe you can send me one with yours? Was trying to send you my discord and run something by you.
