[Poem] Learn to fly

When I left home
I didn’t look behind.
I am out in the world,
the world is mine.

I left the nest,
I spread my wings
and roam the open sky,
and yelled “The sky is mine!”
This is the point of no return,
is time to be on my own,
you have to earn it,
you have to yearn for it,
You can’t stay in your nest forever,
because you’ll never learn to fly.

When I left home,
I didn’t look behind.
I went out in the world
to make it mine.
