Curie vs TravelFeed, SteemitWorldMap and eSteem Surfer
I have a bit of a dilemma in terms of tags to use sometimes. I travel a lot and write a lot of travel articles. Like everyone else I would like to catch the eye of a @curie curator and receive even the 'minor' @curie love.

However, you really need something exceptional for this to happen and also your post needs to have a small amount of votes and rewards. How much this is exactly I think depends on the value of STEEM’; it may be a variable figure.
This brings me to the title subject. Hypothetically I have written a masterpiece, this content surpasses Shakespeare in terms of raw quality but is travel related and I want to share it with the Steemit community and its that good, @curie can’t fail to miss it.
The travel tag is mandatory, but what of the others incentives? Should I use @travelfeed and @steemitworldmap. My article is of such quality, it will surely get their eye?
I go ahead and use those tags and many hours later it does indeed get the eye of these curation groups, and perhaps some other smaller ones. I am feeling good as my rewards are now around $4 and contain lots of votes due to multiple curation feeds.
But where is @curie? This is truly world beating content, and surely must have been have been noticed by the premiere, 'cream de la cream' of curation groups?
At this point, I’m thinking @curie has dismissed the masterpiece on the basis that it has broken the reward threshold and is now not admissible. They appear to be specific about this and it’s their rules, so what can we do about it?
Getting back to reality, I have had a ‘major’ @curie twice, and neither article has been travel related. If you have something you deem great and you want @curie love, I guess @travelfeed and @steemitworldmap will need to be forsaken.
My last @curie was upvoted by @esteemapp and @good-karma, but still got the @curie treatment. Maybe it was just under the threshold and I got lucky, or maybe I’m completely off with my assumptions above and what I’m writing is a load of old bollocks!
It’s a fine line you tread if you are a serial masterpiece creator and want that big love; maybe you just can't have your cake and eat it too?
Can someone from @curie let us all know some answers to my dilemma?
PS: This article is NOT travel related, Shakespeare material, a masterpiece, and I wont be be tagging @travelFeed or @steemitworldmap, but I will be tagging @esteem, even though @steevc tells me it’s not necessary for them to notice :)

I have gotten a very few currie votes and think of them as gifts..... makes me happier that way.......

Considering I have finally started writing a blog which is based on my travels, this was seriously relevant. I must admit kind of a virgin when it comes on curation and tags.

I think it helps if you are on Steem.chat. @artgirl did it but I am lazy so I just post anything and never dreamed to be curied. I am lucky enough to have 3 SHORT posts upvoted by blocktrades $23, 25, and 67. 😁

I dislike selling. LOL! I am contented with busy and esteem's daily/weekly 0.10-1.000+ upvotes 😁 I dislike posting my personal life too, much more sharing my real face via dlive so it is now difficult for me to win surpassinggoogle's upvotes for #ULOG #teardrops #contest etc. 😁

Oo ba si @dyinkfinity dapat sumabay na rin para mareach minimum sell/withdraw from Bittrex. At kung may iba pa dyan kasi di mawwithdraw kung maliit lang. $10 equivalent yata ang minimum ng karamihan sa exchanges kaya best for me talaga si blocktrades. Kung sana supportahan ng blocktrades ang Byteball ang saya sana.

I'm starting to wonder if the REP level also starts to dissuade the @curie vote? I've started to see much fewer curie votes, which can be a bit disappointing if you have spent a lot of time writing up a really good post that is quite worthwhile... I've come to the conclusion, that I'm outside the bracket for curie help, and that my post (whilst decent) wasn't as stunning as I thought it might be!
Oh well!
It's their project and rules, if we get it.. its a bonus, that's the way we need to look at it really.

I had the honour to receive several 'minor' curries on some of my music posts. Although I really apreciate it I don't write for those votes. It is a recognition of your writing :).. I struggle with the tags too, but mostly use the same every time..
I think we all would like to know the answer to that question! A @curie upvote for me is like winning a lottery, always a lovely surprise :)
I got a couple of curie votes when I first started posting, and they were a great boost to my confidence in Steemit. I thought my curie days were over, so I was quite surprised when I got one recently. They're always a lovely surprise. But I don't try to court curie as I don't think that's what they're for. I love the steemitworldmap - it's always there for me, and I always try to repay it in upvotes. I think the long-term support from some of the smaller communities can be just as beneficial as the occasional curie upvote.
Yes, I do this too, for all of them. If they get bigger, they benefit everyone who is worthy of their attention.

Yes, I do that but usually wait a little. Most of the up vote services want max curation and do their voting after the 30 minute threshold.
Actually not most, but about half of them or so. There is an overview of min/max post age as required by bots for their upvotes shown on Steem Bot Tracker developed by @yabapmatt, but you probably already know about this service. Just in case you don't, check it out.
Firstly, don't bother with the curie tag. I dont think any curie curators really look at it.
Secondly, curie will only upvote unrewarded authors to give them a boost. "Unrewarded" is subjective of course, but you are getting a good 4 or 5 $ per post at the moment with a $15 recently and your previous curie is 2 weeks ago. You dont really class as un-rewarded any more to be honest. Unless you do produce something truly exceptional, or are receiving low payouts (think sub $2 for a month or so) then you won't be picked up by a curie curator.
If your work is truly a masterpiece then you have enough curie curator followers that it will be noticed. That includes me.

FOR TSE: I used to know quite a few of the curie rules, but I see them breaking them more and more -- so there's no telling.
It used to be things like you needed consistently very low payouts, the post needed to be showing less than $5, you couldn't have had a post worth over a certain amount in the recent past, you had to have a rep under a certain level, the post had to be less than 24 hours old, curie couldn't have voted you in the last few months (or maybe ever -- that one seems to have changed), curie couldn't have featured a very similar post or one on a similar topic recently, etc.
(There used to be a lot of criticism that curie was a "one night in wonderland" experience. Maybe that's why they'll upvote a blog now more than once. Who knows?)
Plus, I understand from certain unhappy curie curators that they break the rules themselves for certain "favorites." Favorite curators, that is. The curators themselves are rewarded rather nicely for their discoveries and submissions. That suggests to me there's a lot of politics in it.
Yes, curie votes are very nice, but they're kind of haphazard. I see a lot of undervalued content that deserves them more than some they choose. IMO. I was real excited to find curie when I was very new on Steemit. I thought ---> Here at last is how to find the good stuff without slogging through all the crap.
The excitement didn't last.
You might want to focus your efforts in other directions ... and if the curie fairy passes over and drops you a gift ... consider it exactly that.
Yes, I'm going to do just that... focus in other areas. There may be many other @curie's soon, but I still love them for what I have received in the past.
One of the big mysteries of Steemit...Curie! Never know what will cause Curie to stop by and bless you with a vote. We all keep trying our best, write amazing content, that should bring a Curie vote. I can't figure it out myself! I didn't know travel content was the key...hmmm I'll remember that! Thanks@slobberchops :)
