Digital Currency Past Present Future - Ripple Just Overtook Ethereum as No. 2
Ripple's market capitalization shoot up to $98 billion as its price hit an all time high of 2.54 per coin. Whether or not this meteoric rise is sustainable remains to be seen. There are no news in the market that would cause the price to rise to such an unimaginable level and so it could potentially drop like a shooting star once the momentum and excitement wane down.
There are much frenzy and hype on Ripple's rise that some hardcore supporters are expecting the "flippining" could occur early next year when Ripple overtakes bitcoin's market cap. That would be fun to watch but my money if off the table. The risk is too high for me.

Do you believe ripple is going to overtake bitcoin? I feel like this sudden spike should not be something we should all hop in it feels too much of a gamble. Although Bitcoin is extremely backed up with transactions and the fees are outrageously high :/
I don't but its not impossible. Bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and similar coins eliminates the middlemen such as banks but Ripple on the other hand supports banks. So I could see a scenario where all the big banks of the world take shelter with Ripple to avoid getting eliminated and if this happens, the filippining could occur.

What's the real market cap of Ripple? Is it 39Bn X $2.70 or 100Bn X 2.70 cause all the coins are already created and 60% of it is held by RippleLab or few individuals.
the former. the 61B is held in escrow which is out of the market at this point. Think of them as the unmined bitcoin reserved for the future.
