Wednesday Walk - Visiting the Danube
Another lovely opportunity to share our photos here on Steemit is WednesdayWalk challenge initiated by @tattoodjay. The purpose of this challenge is to take a break from our daily chores and take a walk. And photograph the interesting things that catch our attention.
I love walking and hiking...basically any activity that involves spending time outdoors. So, since these are the last warm days of the Summer, we decided to take a short trip to the South East of Romania and visit the Danube river (did you know it is the Europe's second longest river flowing through ten countries?).
After driving several hours we reached the Danube's proximity. Before getting to the big river, we took a short break so we could admire the plain landscape (we are people of the mountain 🙂).
We started to walk among the dried grass and I was especially delighted by the beautiful horizon line as no peaks could be seen.
On the right side of this beautiful place, we discovered some interesting rock formations. Colors blended into an interesting display of green grass on a brown background.
Kids were so happy that they could practice their climbing skils. And while they did that, a big surprise was waiting behind the big brown rock.
This beautiful small lake was the perfect place to chill and think about the natural beauties. What better mirror for the sky?
Would it be hard to believe that our short break lasted two hours?
But since the evening was slowly approaching, we went back to the car and headed towards the mighty Danube. And soon after we reached our final destination.
This is my contribution to the #WednesdayWalk challenge, I hope you like it. All photos were taken by me with my husband's phone (Huawei P9) and Snapseed edited. 🙂

Thanks for that lovely walk in Romania. As a toddler, it seems I was very good at humming the tune "Blue Danube."
Thank you for stopping by. We missed you around here. 🙂
I love this beautiful waltz...I always dreamed about dancing in a beautiful castle, wearing a long silky dress...then I grew up. 🙂
Haha. I hear you. This summer we attended a wedding in a Scottish castle, and some little girls were dancing in a castle while wearing long silky dresses!
Oh! A Scottish castle. After the Fairy Garden this is too much. If you will tell me you saw a ghost, I will purchase a ticket to Scotland right now. 🙂
I really like Scotland, people and culture.

Well worth the long drive for such wonderful scenery and I love the reflections
thanks for joining Wednesday Walk tip!
Thank you so much for your words. I'm happy to join your challenge. I was planning to do it for quite some time but it always happened to stay inside that week (we had a very rainy Summer). But from now on I will try to walk at least 5 minutes every Wednesday. 🙂
Thanks was great to see you join, remember i dont have rules just guidelines and the walk can be any day of the week I just ask if you can to share it on a Wednesday :)
I liked your hiking pics, lake is best and it has beautiful reflection.
Thank you for your comment. The photos of the lake are very good indeed. I'm amazed I could capture that beauty with a phone. 🙂
Super post @roxy-cat I have been to the Danube but in Bulgaria. Such a great river. It is great you can go on an adventure like this with your family. Thank you for sharing the sights and your walk. Brings back some great memories.
Thank you for your lovely comment. Much appreciated.
Indeed this is an amazing river. And the delta it forms were flowing into the sea is something absolutely divine. Hopefully I will get there next year. I would have gone there this Autumn but the weather forecast is not looking good and it will be a too "strong" adventure for my toddlers. Plus some of the beautiful birds nesting there already fled South.
Some of the nicest and warmest people I ever met were from my visit to Bulgaria.
You should try visiting Romania. We are very nice and warm. Plus, we give a new definition to hospitality.
Did I mention we are very modest too? 😂
Very modest. I bet you are not exaggerating either. One day. I have been to Turkey and Hungary also. In the same vicinity.
Well, that's a plan. Next time it's Romania. You will not be disappointed. 🙂
Sounds great!
I've been to Danube in Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Romania and Serbia and it's SO different in each country! It's a small river in Germany and so huge in Serbia and Romania..
Anyway, it looks like a great walk and fun with your family!
The Danube gets bigger in our country as no natural obstacles to stop it from flowing.
It is an amazing river hence the family trip. 🙂
Thank you for your kind words

That's something I would expect to see in North America. I learn something new every day on Steemit. ;-)
Very nice photos!
I've never been to North America but I could imagine some mighty buffalos drinking from that lake. 🙂
Thank you for your nice words and a belated "welcome to Steemit!".
Thank you!
Wonderful natural garden.
Lovely colors, awesome reflections.
Thank you, darling. Indeed, the reflections are the best. 🙂
