For a change of pace - I'm including 4 Steem links in a single post this time. Steem's musicians really showed up with some great recordings in the last couple of days. I'd like to embed all 4, but I forced myself to pick one. Make sure you remember to click through and upvote, though.

  1. STEEM Vesislava - Can't Help Falling In Love (Cello Cover) - Here is @vesislava playing "Can't Help Falling in Love on Cello for D-Tube.

(5% of the rewards from this post will go to @vesislava)

  2. STEEM Steemit Open Mic Week 142 - San Francisco (Original) - @skycorridors playing and singing her original composition, San Francisco on Youtube for the #openmic competition. (@skycorridors will receive 5% of the rewards from this post.)

  3. STEEM GOD `S GONNA CUT U DOWN (Johnny Cash cover) - Another Johnny Cash cover on Youtube by @shemzee, God's Gonna Cut You Down. (@shemzee will receive 5% of the rewards from this post.)

  4. STEEM Ill Stand By You // The Pretenders - @silentscreamer with a D-tube cover of the Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You". (5% of the rewards from this post will go to @silentscreamer.)

  5. Six of the best sci-fi movie soundtracks - This post has descriptions and youtube embeds of six of the best soundtracks from science fiction movies. The list includes: Things to Come (1936: Arthur Bliss); The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951: Bernard Herrmann); Solaris (1972: music by Eduard Artemyev); Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977: John Williams); Alien (1979: Jerry Goldsmith); Under the Skin (2013: Mica Levi). The only two I had heard before were Close Encounters and Alien.

  6. Watch Freddie Mercury Sing 'Time Waits for No One' In a Previously Unreleased Video - This article includes an embedded youtube video of a previously unreleased recording of Freddie Mercury singing, Time Waits for Nobody. Described as shy, gentle, and kind, Mercury recorded this video in 1986 at the Abbey Road studios for a Dave Clark (of the Dave Clark Five) project called Time. Clark remembered the recording and was able to track it down in the spring of 2018.

  7. In order to help make Steem the go to place for timely information on diverse topics, I invite you to discuss any of these links in the comments and/or your own response post.

For example, feel free to comment on any or all of these discussion topics:

    • Just tell everyone how awesome Steem's musicians are. ; -)

    • Did you see the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody? And if so, did it change how you think of Queen or Freddie Mercury? Where were you during the 1985 Live-Aid concert?

    • This post includes examples of 60s pop, 80s pop, country, folk(ish), and classical music. Which genres do you prefer?

    • What are your favorite movies and soundtracks from the top-6 up above? Which of the movies have you seen?
