Spain OUT Croatia survive
Quality wise probably the worst games were played today.
Spain vs Russia was depressing. Only really got interesting towards the end of the game with the introduction of Aspas and Rodrigo the combined with the Russians getting tired. Spain had all the possession and had over 1000 passes, of which at least 1000 were sideways making it easy for the Russians to defend. Russia had a plan and stuck to it defend and counter. Spain had a plan to pass with no substance just pass for the sake of it. No-one wanted to pass the ball forward or run at the Russian defence Isco had a few moments but other than that absolutely nothing.
Awesome result for Russia, were happy to go to penalties and looked confident stepping up to take them. Well done and well deserved.
Croatia vs Denmark started off with a bang but the longer the game went on the less risk both teams took and ended up in another penalty shoot out. Both goalkeepers were brilliant saving numerous penalties between them. Good saves but also not the best penalties. Finally Rakitic stepped up to put Croatia through to set up a tie with Russia

Brazil vs Mexico
Belgium vs Japan
Brazil and Belgium are favourites and should both go through but anything can happen. I am just hoping for some quality after watching those 3 games today
