Too many people simply fall into a comfortable niche in life and stay there rather than pursue goals of significance. Leaders cant afford to do that. Leaders must ask themselves whether they want survival, success, or significance. The best leaders desire significance and expend their time and energy in pursuit of their dreams.

An advertising campaign run by a popular European mobile phone manufacturing Company had this interesting pay off: Make yourself heard

This phrase appealed to a lot to my imagination, because it is impregnated with admonition for the people of God. Make yourself heard. Make your ministry heard. Make your gifts and talent heard. Make your revelation heard by all creation!

A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. Proverbs 18:16 (NKJV)

Every believer must make his or her talents and gifts and creative potential heard by creation. Make yourself heard…by giving full expression to your creative vitality. Make yourself heard…by making a bold and pristine statement, to the whole of creation by revealing resourcefulness and creativity. Make yourself heard…by tapping specifically into the awesome potential locked away inside of your morrow, and piping out stellar productions for the world to behold. Make yourself heard….by standing to be the person the Lord knows you are!

Jesus Christ made himself heard. He had little to give in terms of finances, but He was generous towards all-the sick, the disabled, the needy, the sinful, the unlovely-the whole world. He reached deep into Himself and poured His essence out upon creation. He gave, gave, gave, and is still giving. The Lord made Himself heard loud and clear!

Jesus Christ made Himself heard by spiritual authorities in Palestine. His lifestyle, His exemplary character and His output made Him heard loud and clear. By the hypocritical church elite and sundry religious leaders. By the sometimes fickle, sometimes strong disciples. By the new converts. By the expectant masses who believed on the birth of the Messiah.

But none of these heard Him as a carpenter, only as Begotten Son of the Father and Christ. (See Isa 61:1-3)

Yet, He was tutored as a carpenter in Nazareth. This notwithstanding, He never lost focus that the capacity of His mission far exceeded the simple station of a carpenter. All praise to the Father that the Son carried the consciousness of His divinity, at every turn, and in all circumstances. The mentality of a slovenly person or levity of heart of the simple or disposition of nonchalance of the lackadaisical did not afflict Him; invariable weakness some of us tend to become burdened by!

But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself, and not another. Galatians 6:4

Make yourself heard….by fulfilling the ministry committed into you, from your proper position as a Son of God and a doer of exploits. Let your talents and gifts speak eloquently while the world listens. Your beginning may appear pedestrian, even inconsequential, but your later end would be newsworthy. You may start in frustrating obscurity, but you would end in famed popularity!

Moreover, there is something you should know: determination much more than flair overcomes the world! Eric Butterworth said,

"Nothing stops a man who wants to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop his achievement muscle".
