Spring in Poland #5 - Last light... and last few shots
Hi Friends!
Closing the polish spring subject - last part of shots from my short walk in the forests near Mragowo, north-east Poland.
At the end of my short walk I reached the shores of Srednie lake - small but beautiful lake situated among the forest edges from one side and agrocultural fields on the other. One side of the shore is hard to reach because of the swampy ground. From this side I came and took some shots.
On the lake we can find ducks, many other bird species, lake is used for fishing but still have this natural character and look. There are many signs of beaver existence in the area, many trees are fallen and many "damaged" by beavers. Shore line is not very long and in many places extreme to reach, thanks to that, the area is not so often visited by turists.
The lake has one small island. It is possible to "hire" the island - to book a night on the island where You can have a tent, make a bon fire and fishing all night. Wood and transport provided ;).
Very calm and peaceful place...

Question arises... Why should I rent this island if I can just go there, pitch a tent and enjoy? No one looks for me in the middle of the forest :D Great shots by the way!
The answer is simple - lake is in lease of private person, who take care about fish stocking (not sure if its right word) so from time to time he just patrol the lake and also have some people who do it for him, fishing in this lake without paid permission is forbidden.
This is very good situation in fact - even if You have to pay for fishing - tanks to that fish stocking, lake finally came back to life. Before, 10-15 years ago, when the lake had nobody to take care of it, it was completely exploited by locals - this is small water tank and without normalized usage - it is getting depleted very fast.
In Poland - when something is not protected - it is being simply destroyed, because nobody cares about good, natural, stable ecosystems and environment, all they want is to free food source, and very often they use electricity when fishing - killing not only fishes but all the life in the water... sad but true.
Oh damn, that is pretty sad indeed.
