My PhotoVisions #23 - My Macro Worlds vol.1

in #photofeed6 years ago (edited)

Hello Friends and PhotoVisions fans ;)

Today little different post in this series, I thought that it would be good to share with You some of my older works which shows my progress in the PhotoVisions story...
I decided to transform "My PhotoVisions" series in something more than just a posts of my strange abstract ideas or natural artistic motives - it will be, from now on, also a diary of the Visions I had in past and subjects which had great impact on my photography today.

Among Landscape photography and Abstract stuff - Macro photography is my favourite matter. I don't share many of my works as the whole internet is really full of great macro shots of colourful butterflies or flowers, I just do it for my own fun and pleasure...

15.jpg

FUN AND PLEASURE - I find it during crawling with the camera in a high grass, looking for some small animals to shoot. It is like going into their world, like seeing surrounding world by their own eyes. It is amazing how fast time is flowing during macro shooting or maybe better - macro Hunting...

13.jpg

MACRO HUNTING - and it is amazing hunting - because You never know what You will see and find... sometimes is just a simple fly sitting on a green leaf and sometimes is a colourful species of first seen butterfly resting on a huge flower... If there is no insects, it is great time to hunt for some other stuff - like plants, mushrooms, lichens, ground patterns, textures and many others - huuuge posibilities for a fan of PhotoVisions like myself! :D

REMEDY ON STRESS - Another great thing is, that You focus on Your work so much that You simply forget about surrounding world... When walking among the grassy forest meadow You focus to be quiet, to step carefully, to observe every smallest movement around You, to catch any interesting species with Your camera... After some time You check the time - and it justs passed 3 hours.... what? where? how? - this is beautiful how easy You can forget about problems, things to do and other bothering subjects...

12.jpg

EXPERIENCING NATURE - Right there, right then - it is only You and nature, nothing else matters . And this something I love the most in macro hunting.

Presented works in this part of this post are my early works - one of the first to be honest, some of them taken as long ans 14 years ago. My God! Time is running out so fast...

The pictures was made using macro mode in camera Fuji FinePix S20 PRO (my first digital camera) and also with Fuji FinePix S9600 (my second camera) with macro converter Raynox DCR250 attached.

For all of You who read the post until now - tell me what do You think about the idea for the "My PhotoVisions" series to show You my older works as well? Is it OK to share photos that have more than 10 years? ;) Great thanks for comments on this one.

It wold be interesting to see how you have progressed. It would also serve as an inspiration to others that everybody started somewhere and pursued their vision to achieve the success they have now. So I think DON'T POST IT lol! just kidding. You should post it :)

In this set, I like the mantis the most. The expression of its face is funny, being disturbed from its meal. The lighting gave it a strong personality.

Thanks for good comment and opinion. I am happy that somebody are reading text also, not only watch photos...the essence of blogging is to share thoughts also, not only single photo posts... From today I am beginning my 5 month free from work so I hope I will have more time to focus on Steemit and creating more interesting stuff here. Have a good day!

That surely gives you a whole of time to do that. Looking forward to it.

I'm still guilty at just looking at photos most of the times lol!

I have resteemed. Your photos are a revelation. Life forms we casually walk past, have form and function. The bee sipping nectar. The preying mantis consuming a meal--a hunter, following the cold logic of nature. The articulation of eyes, joints and wings gives the creatures' existence a dimension we usually overlook. I could look at these pictures--have looked at them now--many times. Wonderful work.

Really nice to see that my works gives You this kind of reflections. Thank You for this, its a great reward reading such opinions. Have a good day!

it's always interesting to know a photographer's journey, and photography is also an art, no matter how old ;) ... these photos are supremely stunning and beautiful. glad to nominate it for ocd-resteem!

Thank You very much for good comment and support! I am still quite a newbie here and trying many different subjects to create content which will be intersting for most of the users... so I am traveling through my archives searching for good content to share :). Good day to You!

I have to say, I absolutely adore these! If you have more macro shots I'd love to see them!

And have a poem inspired by your work...

Tiny subjects 'neath our feet,
The beasts that make our world complete.
Though oh so often they're forgot
Diminish their importance not.

The lens that lends an eager eye
Will give us worlds on which to spy.
A glimpse of something new we find
And see a little of their kind.

The lens is not the only part
In creation of this art
Requiring patience and precision,
A man with photographic vision.

My favourite is the little white spider, by the way, the third image :)

Great thanks for this nice comment! I have a lot more, these here are the oldest :). Great poem btw ! :D

Very nice work. I have had much the same experience as you with your macro hunting adventures. It is really quite fascinating because you inevitably end up seeing things that you would never see without the help of your camera. I took this with my first digital camera Sony DSC-F505V, and I had a Contax 50mm f1.4 reverse attached to the end. I've found depth of field and proper focusing to be very challenging, but as you say, hours pass very quickly. These are dung flies found in my back yard. DSC01060-1.jpg

Woow, real "action" photo :D
Yes, in reverse lensen depth of field is really shallow, I tried this as well with standard 55mm lens, It is good in artistic or abstract shooting of plants or other details but extremely hard to handle when shooting living, fast moving, 3D creatures ;). Thank You for comment!

You're welcome. I haven't tried the reverse-mount macro stuff in a long time. Kind of like trying to use a hand-held microscope to take pictures. I've had the same issue with difficulty of proper focus and decent depth of field no matter which various method I've tried. I'm always amazed by these nature shows that show macro insect shots with complete depth of field of the entire insect when I could barely get one eye in proper focus with depth. : )

The pictures about You are saying now are made using method called focus stacking - You are doing a serie of photos with different focal points and than, using some software like photoshop, You merge all the frames in one which has full focus spectrum. This needs time and some experience but the results are great... Other thing is that this kind of focus stacking images are not made in the real nature but in studio - and the insects are not moving...because they are dead :(.

But using the proper proffesional macro lenses will also gives You much better DOF without catching the insects or spending hours in processing works...

All pretty spectacular shots. Very clear and well lit.

I've tried a little bit of macrophotography, but have always lacked the right lenses. One of these days, maybe I'll get into it a little more.

I think the direction you've been going and what you're talking about now are both great routes. Why not put up photos that are older? They belong to you. You should be able to do what you want with them.

And now these are forever documented on the blockchain. Well done.

Thank You for Your opinion and good words! It is true, that is not really age is counting but the content and, like in this case, some memories that I have... I remember every single circumstances when taking each of these shots. About the lenses - I never had a proper macro lens - I used macro adapter Raynox DCR250, I used reversed normal lenses, I used different macro rings and in the older cameras - just a macro settings... I hope I will buy some day in future some proper, high quality macro lens and try my luck with this one!...

good post @photovisions my follback @arisviyo and do not forget in my upvote behind hope we become friends.

Wow! Those are great pieces of art. Wonderful to behold. The white spider and the mantis are my favorites, though they are all great. Blessings.

Nice to hear You like it! Yes, This white spider could be much better as a cover photo... but I really like this small one in the begining - looks like a prayer ;) . I remember the time when I shoot this small friend in my grandmother's garden.
