A beach stroll in winter!
Some bikers joy riding early on the beach!
Our first clear day with a weak winter sun and a bit of warmth for a change. Capetonians are a hardy lot and the cold Atlantic certainly will not scare them off. Mind you, we have become the same, as it's a great escape from being cooped up inside under roof in the rain.
Come stroll with us!
Woohoo...sunshine and sea and sand! Just what I need after all the cold and rain!
The colors in this mussel shell reflect the sky and the clouds...the sea and the waves!
A time of relishing the sun and it's warmth. A beautiful Winter's day for the ones of flight!
Capetonian surfers LOVE the waters...whatever the weather!
A Dark-headed Heron over the waters!
A little Pied Kingfisher enjoying the sun!
This Kelp Gull is taking off!
And junior here is impressing his girlfriend!
A clock tower singing Solitaire!
According to the weatherman, the weekend is going to be clear and warming up, until the next cold front that will hit us on Monday.
Thankfully I read that a few dams are 100% full and more water is expected to run into the other dams.
As I said before, some areas have not had any rain for 4 years now and the water is indeed an abundant blessing. Of course the animal kingdom is also happy about the water as they will have much food in the Spring season and the squirrels can't wait for the new nuts on the trees.
The sad thing always is to see all of the plastic items washed up on the beaches by the sea. During this mornings stroll, every few steps a plastic item can be found. Our country has a dire un-employment situation and surely squads of un-employed youngsters can be formed to clean the beaches every day.

Those are great pictures! I'm particularly fond of the running dog (I think I may have been a dog in a previous life - lol!).
Hahaha, thank you for the great comment my friend.
Blessings!
Howdy sir papilloncharity! another beautiful post and that's a great idea about how to keep the beaches clean!
Thank you my friend.
Raining cats and old bathtubs here and it's so great to get all of the water.
Blessings!
Is that rain just in the Cape or are some of the drought areas being rained on too?
Cape and coastal areas my friend.
Have not had much rain in the dry areas yet, but many of them fall in the summer rainfall season.
Blessings!
Too bad they can't build a water pipeline out to the drought areas.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
Ha! They designed and started to build a pipeline to a village that has no water my friend.
The pipes are laying and rusting away in the fields, as they couldn't continue with the job because all of the money disappeared.
The case has now been in the courts for a few years and no one has yet been prosecuted.
Blessings!
oh no! too much corruption, that's so sad!
I missed the beach...
You snaps so many types of birds!!
The beach is indeed a great place to be my friend.
There are many birds around to snap Lol.
Blessings!
I envy you right now!! Hahaha
Wonderful pictures, @papilloncharity. It makes me long for the ocean. A part of my heart is always there. Yes, we need to clean up our plastics. Ugh!! I've been seeing some great advances in technology for cleaning up trash and plastics from the oceans!
Let's hope they continue with the inventions to clean up the oceans my friend.
Glad that I could remind you about your love for the sea.
Blessings and thank you!

BEERtoken. Enjoy it!Great shots, Stephen. Love the dog on the move. 😂 and the heron.
Thank you Lady Jo and it's not the first time that I see that little dog.
He seems to be so full of life, that it makes a person long for one's younger days Lol.
The heron is also one of my favorites, so gracious and slow in the air.
Blessings!
