tv show original song audition
We had an audition for an original song competition (I believe) this morning.
It was pretty low key, in a bar/livehouse called ‘Ohbar’ around people's square.
The tv show I did a while back was in a studio and they had those big cameras and background screens and stuff. Well… this one must have been the audition for the show, due to its simplicity. I'm not really sure to be honest cause they were a bit light on the details, but anyway it was a new experience.
We played 2 original songs written by Michelle Blair. They went down pretty smoothly, and all was well. The judges (or whoever they were) seemed to be happy. I guess now it’s just wait and see what happens from here.

Most were either singers or acoustic guitar/singer.
Some of the top musicians in Shanghai and Beijing do these kind of ‘reality’ tv shows, supporting the contestants with their songs. They are meant to pay pretty well, and it’s steady work.
I think you’d need to be a bit of a perfectionist, or a good sight reader to do this kind of work. They tell me that you usually get 1 or 2 times to practice, then you need to nail it on the day. There are also a lot of songs to remember too, due to the many contestants they churn out.
