SEC S10W6: Steemit, work or support?

Here on steemit, we can form great friendships, we can interact with users both far and near, we create contents on any topic of interest and we can really be happy that we are here. However, everyone both old and new are here to earn and to save up for the future and as well support our expenditures. Steemit can be our major source of income or just for a support.

I have achieved a lot with my earnings on steemit and most recently, even built a house with it out of necessity and not luxury. I am and will be forever grateful because it is just like a gift to me.

At this juncture, I will like to take care of the contest tips to share what steemit has been and is to me. I know you are eager to read. How about you @mesola @isrealakhere and @karianeporras, have you written yours? If not, please I am eager to read if steemit is a work or support to you. I am waiting!

Do you think we should consider Steemit a main job or a way to generate extra resources? Explain your answer.

It is just amazing to behold what steemit can be to different users. Steemit can be a work for most people or just a support for most. It is capable of being the main source of income for most people who have lost their means of livelihood.

Job insecurities throw people off course every now and then and as such, such people can find solace in steemit as they earn by writing or by investing. Sometimes, it is not that person's fault that there is no other means of livelihood and as such they will be thankful that they have come to join steemit and thus learn how to manage little income that comes from it. But in this case, the individual must have to keep looking out for something else, perhaps, try to save up to be able to establish a business or look for another job and not completely rely on steemit.

Yet, others take steemit as a support because perhaps, they have a job or business that is their main work. They come to love steemit and love to blog or invest and curate publications to also gain side incomes. Whatever the case, they also earn from steemit but just that it is not their major source of income.

Steemit is simply the best no matter how one looks at it. However you take it, it is capable of performing that role if you are consistent.

But I strongly advise that we all take steemit as a support rather than as a work. The reason is because earnings are not guaranteed and the price of steem can not always be accurately predicted. Hence, taking it as a work may not always care for your needs and this may force you to turn off which is not advised.

Though it depends on circumstances as if mentioned earlier. There are things we can not control. Life's uncertainties keep throwing one up and down but in all, we can always enjoy our steemit journey.

What is your main economic activity and/or what other jobs do you complement steemit with?

In the past, I had worked in different establishments including banks (during my industrial attachment, in a fast food as their accountant, in a printing press as admin. I had also taught in a secondary or high school during my service. And I lastly worked as an N-Power beneficiary. But in all, I discovered that working for myself is the best for me as a mother and with the zeal and dedication that I worked in those establishments.

I developed interest in production, and packaging after working in that printing press. We were involved in packaging products for most companies and I came to love production a lot especially because it can be done at my own pase and at the comfort of my home or anywhere I choose.

I produce a lot of things which most of you already know about including my handkerchief though this is seasonal but I will like to showcase just one that I added recently. I discovered that anything edible is lucrative and I remembered a business that I was doing with my step sister in Lagos Nigeria after my high school. We were in the business of frying and selling groundnuts. It was very lucrative and it is still lucrative now.

Even though a lot of people are into it but I decided to do the same thing but differently due to the packaging knowledge I have got already.

I decided to go into it in a big way. Buying in large quantity, preparing it, packaging it and retail or sale wholesale to retailers.

I got a new container for it, a 35cl container with a cap that can close it, only to be opened by the consumer.

I also proceeded to give it a label with a name. You will be imagining in your mind how it might look like.

Well, I decided to choose a name that I bear, one of them though because I have I lot of names that I was given during my birth. Take a look at the product

This is simply doing the same thing differently and trust me, I have been making great sales since I began just 2 weeks ago. I take it with me anywhere I am going because it is handy and presentable. The taste is just fantastic. Someone bought one, tasted it and bought 3 more. He exclaimed: I can't remember when last I ate groundnut as tasty as this! Wow!

It is cheap because I know where to print my label at a cheap rate because I have been into printing, I also know where to buy my container at a cheaper rate because I am into it already. That product it just #500 naira per bottle (2.5 steem at current price).

Anyone I move out with doesn't return with me especially at my workout place.

So for now, this is my major source of income while steemit is for support. My husband on the other hand has gotten a job with the Proten ltd as an invigilator of their exams. So, things are beginning to fall in place gradually. The Almighty is really showering us with his blessings as he promised.

What would you do if STEEM fell to $0.00001?

This will be the right time to buy and hold steem. I love savings. Investing in steem will be my only option because at this point, steem can no longer be a support for anyone or even a work. It wasn't a support or a work for me in 2020 when I joined steemit because it was lower than expected and when exchanged in my local currency, it couldn't buy anything. I made my investments then and powered up most of my earnings.

So I will do the same when steem falls to $0.00001. it will be the right thing to do because it will surely go up again.

What would you do if STEEM reached $10?

Everyone is praying for this moment to come. I am also praying for this and this is also the reason behind most of the steemit team's projects like the club initiative and the powerup campaigns. They are geared toward the upward movement in price of steem.

However, if steem gets to $10, I will have to consider a lot of things.

• Will it move up the more or remain there for a long time?

• Will it go down and how long?

• Will it be wise to invest more or has it reached its peak?

It is the conclusion arrived at, that will determine what I will do.

For instance, if it is going to move down after a while, I will dispose some of my earnings as an entrepreneur, but I won't dispose all.

If it is finally achieved, I will wisely take part of my earnings for projects that will yield profits like buy some landed properties that I can resale if steem goes down again or carryout other projects that will yield income that will be plowed back to steem with time.

If it will go up, then I will invest more and more if I have the fund. So it all depends on the trend at that time.

What do you use the resources you get with Steemit today?

• I power up 50% of it as saving and investment.

• I have been able to get a house for the family

• I have used it to start a production business for more income

• I use it to subscribe for data

• It pays my transport fare

• It buys food for me

• Assist in paying the kids school fees

The list goes on and on.

Conclusion

Steemit has really helped a lot of people in different ways and at different times. I am a living witness to that fact. It has served both as a work for me and as a support and it's still service as a support for me. I have not seen any other place to be than to remain here and make the best use of the opportunity presented to me here.
