Different ways of expressing sadness
What do you do when you feel Sad?
Everyone feels sad at some or the other point of time in Life. it is impossible that one can always be happy all the time. There are times when we feel sad and low without a reason also, it's just the energy in the environment that can drain us out and make us go off mood. There can be many reasons for sadness, some people can get out of it soon, and some stay in that feeling for a longer time and everyone has different ways to deal with their sadness.
It's not always that we are feeling sad, sometimes we just feel miserable and we make that feel as sadness, that feeling about everything is going wrong, things are just not in order or that the whole world is against me. But whatever it is, we cannot stay in this mood for long.
Normally when I get into this mode, I am gone for a few days. It is like my original self is switched off and there is some new me, who is completely unknown to the world. Different people have different ways of reacting to this sadness or the feeling of being miserable.
People have different way to react, I know some of my friends who go out shopping, it makes them feel relieved from the stress and anxiety. It is the common one amongst the females. They bounce back easily with shopping, the mental satisfaction of pampering your own self by buying new things for yourself guess kind of boosts the brain activity. Some people indulge in heavy eating, especially sweets, Some people sleep, some disconnect completely and some brood.
I am that last one brooding type. When I have to deal with my sadness, I immediately go into my shell and disconnect from everyone, for 1 day, the mood is very cranky, I avoid talking to anyone, else I can get very nasty, then I brood a lot and make it feel to myself that life has been the most unfair to me. My husband also avoids talking to me in these moments :-) for a day or sometimes even 2 to 3 days, this pattern continues, and then I get back to my senses again, and all those reverse thoughts start as to how silly I am, life is so beautiful for me, why am I such a cranky and silly person, and then I start connecting again with everything around. It does not happen very often with me, but yes once in a few months it does. I want to be left alone in such times, I cannot tolerate any sound in such times, all I want is complete silence around me. I prefer going out to some nature place, like to a park or by the sea side and spend those lonely moments and keep thinking and thinking.
It is a process of 2 to 3 days for me to completely get out of it and come to my original self. And then I am normal like nothing happened and my husband tells me jokingly, thank god you are back to your senses. I too feel it was so unnecessary to do all that drama, I could have been ok with just a little cheer, but then there is no fun in life without some drama, right?
Some people when they are Sad, they want people around them to comfort them, to make them feel good, and they cheer up. For me it is the opposite, I get more annoyed and irritated when someone keeps asking me what happened. I like to be left alone to myself.
We are all different characters and have our own unique ways. What are your ways to deal with sadness?
Sadness and anxiety are ways of life but hope does not lead us astray. Every problem and difficulty has its solution. Patience and gratitude help us to find the solution.
Very wise words, hope is the light at the end of the tunnel and that's what keeps the whole world going
Sadness is a state of mind that I assimilate in the same way as you. That feeling is also reflected with anger and frustration. Loneliness is the refuge where we can reflect and resume normality. Life is a path of roses, but do not doubt that you will find many thorns and you will trip over many stones. Love and patience are the strongest allies in life. Have a happy day!
Many times the problems that come our way make us feel that way, a little sad, we cannot let those feelings wrap us up and paralyze us, we have to look for the root of the problem and attack it.
It depends on which type of sadness. If it happens after any quarrel, I went to see some comedy movies scenes on TV or youtube, but I could not control my sadness when I lost my mother and no comedy scene works
Ahhaa, circumstances matter, you are right. We react on different situations in different ways.
Ohh my dear, I can understand, when we lose our dear ones, it is very difficult to have a hold on our emotions.
Yupp... When I am sad I try to keep quiet. it's help me to overcome the sadness.
Yes, everyone has their own way to express
Sadness is an emotion which causes us a lot of discomfort, and some people express it by crying, by painting or writing, that is, painting or writing whatever comes to mind, or some go to the help of a professional, the important thing is to overcome the moment, and continue living life.
Overcoming it and not letting it get on you is the key. It is ok to be sad, but as you rightly said more important is to continue living
Good topic, what you mention about sadness,
I particularly think that is a state of mind that varies between one person and another, it also influences what criteria we have about life, ourselves, the environment, and what habits we have so as not to get stuck in the past and live the present always trying to "be better than yesterday", which requires a good cultivation of the mind. In this way and above all having God in our lives, the sadness you won't find shelter for a long time. Greetings .
True, it varies from one person to another based on their own state of mind. Everyone reacts in different ways to similar situation, it depends on our mental health how we handle the situation. But the point is in whatever way we handle we need to get out of it soon and not be stuck in it
Hello friend, what you express is correct, exactly the same thing happens to me. On those days I cry and I want someone to listen to me. Dealing with sadness is not easy, some need help or just to be heard. Sometimes I think that just crying does me good to fully recover but we must always move on because we know that this state of mind is not forever. I send you a hug friend.
Crying is good and one must if need is felt, because it helps to release the burden from the heart and release the stuck up emotions. It is one way of freeing ourselves from the stuck up emotions
That's right, we release everything we have accumulated.
When you are in sad, start to help people, find answers, solve problems you get inspired then you will forget your sadness
If you are in sadness just start helping some small children then you see the change
