📢 Contest Steem For Bangladesh 📢📢 : "Out of Sight,Out of mind"
This statement to an extent is true. It happens many a times that when the person gets out of our sight for a longer time it is very possible to get them out of mind. It's not that we want to forget them, but just the absence of their physical presence also makes them absent in our mind. Even the strongest of bonds when there is a physical distance then there are times that those people can get out of our mind. Which does not mean that we forget them, or never remember them. It's just that they are not a part of our day-to-day life and conversations.
My best friend, we have a very special bond. When she moved to another country. In the beginning it was very tough for both of us to be without each other. We felt each other's absence and would miss the times that we spent together. But gradually life had to move on, we had to live our lives with what we had around us, and we started settling in our new environments. It's been quite some time to that, now 10 years. Our bond is still the same, but we do not communicate daily. We are no longer part of each other's day-to-day life. Though we speak about our lives and what's going on occasionally, but there are times when both of us miss to update each other. There was a time when for every small thing we were together but now with distance that is no more. We have other people around us who are physically present and we turn back to them.
Personally, for me I am not a phone person, so I do not keep talking or messaging regularly with people who are not in my physical proximity. Again, that does not mean that I have forgotten them. Whenever I meet them, we pick up from where we have left and it never feels like we were distant. But yes, in that gap of time, it does happen that the person is completely out of my sight. A lot of people also have complaint about this to me. They feel that in the world of Whatsapp and video calling we should stay in touch like how we would in normal real time. That's not possible for me. I do not even regularly remember to call my Son or my mom. I set reminders for myself to call them up regularly. For me this statement goes very apt; "Out of Sight; Out of mind." It is true that they only hide from my eyes but not from my mind. I do think of them, remember them and occasionally also connect with them, but not on regular basis. If they need me in any way, I will always be there for them rock solid. In such times they will find me all over and then again, I will disappear.

Certainly when we stop seeing our friends or family in our daily lives our mind plays a trick on us and sometimes we stop looking out for them.
We do not forget them, but we occupy our mind in our daily life.
From time to time there is a phone contact or whatsapp, but it does not have the same value or feeling.
