A Little About Me...and TopTal

I am a Full-stack Software Developer/Engineer and enjoy all aspects of it.  I am most in my element when it comes to back-end development: database design, writing stored procedures, querying and analyzing data, optimizing queries, ETL, or anything related to the DBMS.  A solid back-end is at the heart of any data driven application – just my two cents!  You could wake me up in the middle of the night, ask me to write some complex queries, and I'll do it with ease as if it were part of my dream.   

I have worked remotely as a freelancer, both independently and as part of a team, for over a decade and LOVE it -now don’t be fooled, working remotely requires more discipline than going to an on-site job Monday through Friday. 

Aside from the money I save on gas and clothes (no, I am not a nudist :-)) I am so much more productive and overall much happier than many of my peers working on-site, and that in spite of making less money –no paid time off.  While not obvious I am also a bit of an introvert, so that may have something to do with it as well.   

I recently stumbled onto TopTal.  My first though was, “Hmm…another one of those freelance portal sites.” But as I navigated TopTal and read the blogs I got more and more impressed.   It became clear this was no ordinary hangout!  These are top-notch folks!  I had to become part of this...
