today I would like to tell you about a little excursion to a beautiful nature reserve. In the surroundings of Upper Swabia there are some beautiful ravines with breathtaking waterfalls and gorges. Here I have already told you about the beautiful Eistobel or the Scheidegger and Hasenreuter waterfalls. 🌊

heute möchte ich euch von einem kleinen Ausflug in ein wunderschönes Naturschutzgebiet berichten. In der Umgebung von Oberschwaben gibt es einige schöne Tobel mit atemberaubenden Wasserfällen und Schluchten. Hier habe ich euch schon von der wunderschönen Eistobel oder den Scheidegger- und Hasenreuter Wasserfällen berichtet. 🌊

Today I want to tell you about the Rinkenburger Tobel and the Schmalegger Waterfall.
The Rinkenburger Tobel is located near Ravensburg in Schmalegg. The waterfall was created because about 12,000 years ago a 681 square kilometer glacier moved through Upper Swabia and formed the Schussental. The glacier was thus almost as big as Hamburg today. 🗻

Since 2005, the Rinkenburger Tobel and the associated waterfall belong to the protected areas "Natura 2000" of the European Union. 🌿

Heute möchte ich euch von der Rinkenburger Tobel und dem Schmalegger Wasserfall berichten.
Die Rinkenburger Tobel befindet sich in der Nähe von Ravensburg bei Schmalegg. Der Wasserfall ist entstanden, da vor ca. 12.000 Jahren ein 681 Quadratkilometer großer Gletscher durch Oberschwaben zog und dabei das Schussental bildete. Der Gletscher war somit also fast so groß wie das heutige Hamburg. 🗻

Die Rinkenburger Tobel und der dazugehörige Wasserfall zählen seit dem Jahr 2005 zu den Schutzgebieten „Natura 2000“ der Europäischen Union. 🌿

Near the waterfall, you will also find an old cave. Hidden and barely noticeable between two thick trees is the entrance. Unfortunately, I have no information about what this cave was used for. One way of the cave ends after approx. 3 meters at a rock face, the other way is spilled after approx. 5 meters.
Maybe an old Erdstall, an old sandpit, or even an old robber hideaway from Black Veri and his band of robbers? The Robin Hood from Upper Swabia? 👀 👇

In der Nähe des Wasserfalles, findet man auch noch eine alte Höhle. Versteckt und kaum bemerkbar zwischen zwei dicken Bäumen befindet sich der Eingang. Ich habe leider keine Infos darüber um was es sich bei dieser Anlage mal gehandelt hat. Ein weg der Höhle endet nach ca. 3 Metern an einer Felswand, der andere Weg ist nach ca. 5 Metern verschüttet. Vielleicht ein alter Erdstall, eine alte Sandgrube oder sogar ein altes Räuberversteck vom Schwarzen Veri und seiner Räuberbande? Dem Robin Hood aus Oberschwaben? 👀 👇

The Rinkenburger Tobel is definitely a nice destination for a pleasant day trip if you are in the vicinity.
You can also combine the tour with the Höll-Tobel.

Die Rinkenburger Tobel ist auf jeden Fall ein schönes Ausflugsziel für eine angenehme Tagestour, wenn man in der Nähe ist.
Man kann die Tour auch mit der Höll-Tobel verbinden.
