Color Challenge Thursday Green ~ Drama Updates, Fractals, I need help.

Soooo ... What is it? I think it sort of looks like a sea of green rings with waves headed our way.

I might spend the rest of my life just making fractals. They're fun, whimsical, slightly out of control, unending ... I could go on .... I'm sure I will ... but let's do that in another post.

So, let's see ... drama. Where did we leave off?

The two inches of water in my basement have been evacuated. But OH MY the stench that's left behind! I've been clearing the air with diffused essential oils throughout the house. I've stopped coughing without ceasing. OH and I found out that the face masks rubbed with just a bit of essential oils make awesome inhalers ... well and I don't have any reaction if I wear said mask into the room that is currently trapping all the odors and mold and mildew that seep out of the basement door.

Yes. yes. This basement recovery is still an unfinished but progressing project.

The cause? ummm er ... Tractors? crushed drain pipes! AND My washing machine (usually) drains through the (un)crushed drain pipe ... so ... Where did the water come from? It was laundry water plus water that can seep through from the ground ... but probably 99% water from my washing machine because it couldn't drain out.

Fortunately, we've not been out constantly playing in the dirt or the motor oil for the last month. And I've been using Epsom Salt as a fabric softener because it breaks down the soap so well. That's a nice thing because we line-dry, not machine-dry, our clothes. (No. I don't want a dryer.)

The last time I needed a refill on the Epsom Salt, @mitchmiester spotted some at Lowes in the garden center. When he brought it home, I noticed it has sulfur in it (because that helps plants fight mold, fungus, and mildew). Well guess what! That specific bag of Epson Salt couldn't have been better chosen if Yehovah Himself, had pointed it out to @mitchmiester. I can't imagine how scummy and how much worse it would have smelled.

As far as downsizing goes, I'm still working through lists (mainly in my head) of what I most want to keep, ditch, etc. And as far as imminent changes in @mitchmiester's employment goes, they haven't figured out how to finish "the must be finished project" without him, yet. We're still fairly sure that sooner than later we'll be loading our "gypsy wagon" so the main pulling vehicle is getting attention. The gypsy wagon itself keeps ending up looking like a tent. I dunno. Time will tell.

@violetjoy and family, is still at the home of her husband's parents. I very much want her to tell ya'll her story. I keep gently nudging. This fire scare is just the latest in a long string of events. She had hoped to post a fire update for ya'll by now but ... I'm sure you're not going to be amazed by this, now they are struggling with "colds." She's pretty sure it's a legit cold aggravated by the smoke. As far as her little town goes, the fire fighters are more optimistic that they can keep the fire away. But ... and besides ... the smoke in that area is much worse than where she is.

This little fractal below is an overview of the fractal above. It makes me think this: Our life is not always as we see it. Sometimes we're just too far down into the waves to see that the wave crests are really the pinnacles of our life.

I need fractal help! @fractalizer, @woodywood143, and @armincopp. I've checked the forums and as near as I can find, I'm unique. Still. When I save files (any file) or create folders while in JWildfire (yes I reinstalled Java and made triple sure the 64bit installed) they simply do not show up in the Windows File Manager, nor can other image related programs find the files nor the folders. It's like nothing is getting written to disk. But JWildfire sees all of the data!?! ideas?

UPDATE: It was my so-n-so anti-virus putting JFirewire and several other Windows10 Apps in a "sand box" type situation!! Growlllling over here!

The aliens have come! Hope you get your basement fiasco straightened out

Btw I think you should check out the Minnow Accelerator Project and you need to hurry before you outrank the minnow definition there. When you make it through the qualifications, the group is really great. They're readers and people who engage.

I checked out the MAP about a month ago. I think the person was not too impressed with my technical analysis of bitcoin as well as with other misc cycling posts. I'm not a inherent writer, so I do not think that I fit their mold of future whales.

They are here replacing the pipe today. Hooray!

In another amusing twist, we still had Wondercide (cedar oil) left from dealing with pests all summer. @mitchmiester put it in the 2 gallon pressurized sprayer and sprayed the basement. He nearly fumigated himself, too.

No more mold and mildew smell. And on the front porch there is a distinct cedar smell.

Also he hacked out a piece of plywood that covered one of the missing windows, stapled some screen in place and somehow put a fan on a wall that vibrates our bedroom. No it did not enhance romance. Just in case you were wondering lol.

To me it looks like Christmas trees and halos of love and warm snow!

O.o ok christmas trees I can see

... you do know they say don't eat colored snow

... right?

Love your greens. This would also fit into @blacklux trippy Thursday challenge. Glad that the essential oils helped with your mold and smell problem. They are pretty amazing!!

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, I am always a little surprised by how well EO's work. I sometimes sell doTerra and even so, it still can feel like "snake oil" vs "really! They work!" So often they work better than running first to a synthetic chemical! And in our case it kept us from having to run to such a toxic chemical as chlorine!

Our landlord was so impressed he took the Wondercide bottle home with him so he'd be sure to order the right thing! I love it when a chemical lover gets converted!

Did you get your Steemit wildlife challenge worked out?

I used to sell Young Living once upon a time. I was so impressed with the oils and went deep into it. But then, they changed their whole business structure (after Gary Young remarried) and I felt it wasn't a good business opportunity anymore. And if I don't believe in something, I can't sell it.

Glad you converted your landlord!! Yay for you!!!!

Nope, wildlife challenge still a challenge. I replied to the comment, posted in steam cleaners and send a message to (forgot the name - the one who can whitelist you). But I either haven't heard back or I don't know where to look for messages.....

hmmm ... well ... https://steemit.chat/home to the steemcleaners channel is where I'd go next ... but ... ... just try again and see what happens.

I will wait one more day - don't know how many messages those guys get. Then, I'll send another. In the meantime, I am not cross-posting. But it would be nice for me to be able to do so.

Did you paint it by hand?

:) Nice to see you visiting @eggstraordinair. I don't have the patience to learn how to control paints and drawing perspectives. I lean heavily on software to create via the art of math.

Wow, beautiful pictures! I think it looks very much like another planet, far, far a way from here:-)

Thank you very much! I really like this one. ... hmmm yeah. and it was one of the ones eaten by my antivirus At least I have this render ... which was actually technically a screen grab because I couldn't get to the file ... because ... see my update.

@marillaanne Sharing to acquire this observed a lot more (and maybe open the eyes of a few)! Thank You for any effectively submit and documented write-up!.

You need to find a way to become real before they down vote you (flag you) into oblivion.

Great works, I wish you success

First of all, let me say that these are very impressive and you have definitely got the fractal bug! Lol!
So, can I ass/u/me that you did find the culprit concerned with the file and folder problem?
You may already know, but if not, JWF saves your work in the program if you click the Quick Save "Q" button on the left of the big Render button.
That will save your flame as a qsave170917.flame file into the folder which you save your flames into.
I have a folder inside my JWildfire folder called "Flames" and another called "Renders".

it was my stupid antivirus! it decided to "sand box" the app and the files and ... it let me have the app but it ate the files. ... there were some nice fractals in there! oh well ... on we go.

I'm not able to handle moving back and forth between the folders to match the flames to the renders ... in a word ADD ... for me it's best to have them side by side ... at least for now. ... and yes I have found the flame viewer :)
