The Short Road to Steemfest ... from Chiang Mai

in #roadtosteemfest5 years ago (edited)

The moment I heard from @fitinfun that SteemFest 2019 would be held in Bangkok, I knew I had to go.

I’m currently living in Chiang Mai – just a quick flight to Bangkok, or an overnight train ride. Not only will it be easy for me to get there, it will also be very cheap.

Why I love Steemit.com

For decades, I worked in writing / editing / publishing, but had never done much freelance work. I had tried some blogging and freelance writing, but I found that it can be very hard work, and all my ventures had been singularly unsuccessful.

Then I heard of Steemit. Immediately, I knew it was made for me (and for you). Soon after I joined, I realized how easy it was to create an attractive and effective blog on this platform. Even before I started posting, I had a flood of ideas about the different types of content I could feature on my blog. Many of those ideas are now bearing fruit.

Why I plan to go to SteemFest 2019

SteemFest 2017 was held shortly after I joined Steemit. I would have loved to attend, but I had recently moved across the world and then to Chiang Mai, and had hardly settled down here. As a result, I was unable to make it to the Lisbon SteemFest.

As for SteemFest 2018, there were various reasons that I did not attend. However, lack of enthusiasm was NOT a reason.

Now, it’s been close to 2 years since I’ve been on Steemit. I’ve put much effort into my Steemit blog, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Also, I’ve done what I can to promote, encourage, and motivate the community, and to help others become successful. I myself have become quite successful, and I’ve made many friends on this platform.

One of the reasons for my success is that so many other Steemians helped me along the way. They offered plenty of advice, assistance, and information. With their input, I've even learned about HTML!! Which was a major feat for a non-techie like me.

By attending SteemFest 2019, I hope to meet many of my new-found friends face to face. I also hope to make many new friends – some whom I’ve read about on Steemit, and many whom I have not yet had any contact with.

Also, I kinda need a short break from my current “hometown”  of Chiang Mai.

I'm sure that a few days in Bangkok will be the ideal getaway.

Who and what is @maJes.tytyty

My blog reflects some of my interests and passions – primarily travel, music, and language.

The most popular posts have been those in my “Vocab-Ability”  series, each of which features a “Vocab Practice”  exercise. Those exercises have had a steady stream of participants, some long term.

I’m now reaching the end of the series (over 350 separate units). Already, a few people have encouraged me to redo the entire series. I will probably do so, after a short break.

Moreover, I recently started a series entitled “Music to Your Ears.”  It’s intended as an ongoing series, and in fact, it will probably be a “never-ending”  series.

SteemFest and Steem Faster ... Full Steem Ahead!

Wow, congrats! I am happy that you'll be at Steemfest3, even though I cannot attend this very edition. I hope that you will get to write about your experience.

This post is not only wowing, it is wonderfully written. Also, I should thank @fitinfun for telling you about Steemfest. I hope that you will both share a selfie. Lol

All the best on your short but eventful road to Steemfest....full steaming Steem ahead!

@gandhibaba, I think there will be many selfies there :)

Oh great to hear that. I'll be looking forward to it

Hi @majes.tytyty
Wow friend I feel a great emotion knowing that you will participate in the SteemFest 2019, I identify a lot with you and I must also thank all the support you give me, I hope that someday I can also attend a SteemFest I do not know which year but the sky is not the limit.

Again I say I'm very happy for you.

I hope to see some publication of your experiences in that SteemFest 2019.

I send you a big fraternal hug from Venezuela.

Thanks for the best wishes. I hope to learn lots and have a great time at SteemFest.

I'm so happy to see this post, @majes.tytyty, and so excited we will finally get to meet. You have given so much help to people with your vocab work, and yes - please keep the series going. I send people who struggle with writing over to you all the time, so you cannot stop.

See you soon in Bangkok :)

Thanks for encouraging me to make this post.
Yep, see you soon!

Re the price of Steem, it's a bit frustrating to see it languish where it's been for so many months now. On the bright side, Bitcoin and other cryptos are on an upward trajectory, and clearly at the start of a bull market.

Bitcoin itself has increased greatly over the past 3 months. Most other cryptos are following, but only slowly. While there are occasional days when the price of one might jump 5% or 10%, even the most reputable cryptos are lagging far behind Bitcoin.

Steem remains one of those. Lagging now, but as the bull market picks up "steam," Steem till rise and the Steem engine will turn into a rocket.

At least, I hope so.

And that is why I post more when others are not. Ever the optimist :)

I don't know all the inner workings of Steemit, but GandhiBaba once told me that the most lucrative time to earn Steem is when the price is lower. Apparently, the payout percentages are high now, and they will decrease somewhat as the price rises.

That makes sense to me, and that's another reason that I just keep on posting.

I'm look forward to the "RISE" with anticipation.

YES! This is true and I tell people all the time, @majes.tytyty. The more you post with a low price, the more steem you get. Additionally, no one else posts, so the people who vote for you have higher power. I have people voting my posts at 100% now. They are on auto-vote, most people they vote for are not posting, and they are not here themselves, so they do not fix it. I try to post MORE at these low price days.

NOTE: if you have the power and can vote any of my older replies, on any of the blogs, this would help me right now. I am scrambling for rent.

I just gave a whole whack of your comments 100% UVs. That was somewhat "draining," but I'll just have to sit back and relax my voting for a few days.
Cheers!

Thank you so much, @majes.tytyty. I did see that and appreciate it so much. I am still in deep trouble money-wise and trying to keep focused.

LOOK AT THIS:

https://economicstudio.github.io/vp/?a=majes.tytyty&t=PAL

You are a whale or orca at pal, and are leaving money on the table. I just found out about this and wrote a post.
https://steemit.com/esteem/@fitinfun/will-palcoin-be-my-new-best-friend

My number and everyone I have looked at so far is in this same state. We are not voting our pal properly. So we all need to fix this as I have said in the post I just linked.

Have you been claiming your free steem accounts? This is where they now need to be used.

I hope I am making sense. I need sleep and will get it now.

Back soon.

Ya, I know I have some PAL in my wallet. I had a big chunk more, but I delegated it to a friend.

As for making sense, I assume you are ... it's just that I don't have a clue. You mentioned "voting our PAL properly" and "claiming your free steem accounts," and I have no idea what you're talking about. :-)
