Eight disappointing games released in 2019
This year we got a number of games that provided a wonderful and enjoyable experience such as Skyro, Remic Resident Eiffel 2, Devil May Cry 5 and many others. Also, there were games that surprised us with the level you presented and we had talked about in our previous article. In return, games were launched from major companies that disappointed. Our hopes were truly and were not at the required level.
To make matters worse, those games were overrated by marketing, which made the ceiling of enthusiasm rise for the players and they expect a better experience, but they were shocked by problems with either the content or technical errors, in general, let me review for you the most disappointing games this year.
Contra: Rogue Corps
Publisher: Konami
Developer: Konami
Devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 52
This game bears the name of one of the oldest classic games series, which decades ago provided an enjoyable experience for many players, but unfortunately the game that came this year instead of providing a better and more sophisticated experience provided an unparalleled experience for the fun of that classic game.
The control is bad and annoying, and even the general appearance of the game is unacceptable enough to make you unable to focus and feel annoying to the eye, and what made matters worse is that the developer liked to change the style of the game, so he added elements that have a reason, such as animals, and put a confusing and uncomfortable camera system.
What about the story? In fact, the game will introduce you to the characters and then fight endless fighting, and you can return to the list to see small extracts that make you understand the atmosphere of the story, and this is all there is, and that kills the fun of the boring and repetitive game world in an exaggerated way, just as there is no A diversity of enemies and limited bosses' fighting.
Generation Zero
Publisher: Avalanche Studios
Developer: Avalanche Studios
Devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 49
I almost assure that everyone who played this game felt that he wasted his time with it, its world is huge but it is very empty and does not give you any value to explore and the tasks are repetitive and faded and artificial intelligence is bad with repetition of the designs of the stages, and the game also suffered from technical problems such as falling tires when the area is crowded with enemies.
Even the elements of play find that they suffer from problems such as the return after death system, which causes you to continue playing as if nothing had happened and motivated you to ask yourself, what is the harm from death then? What is the motive that makes you struggle to survive, and the game environment you find it largely duplicate, many houses find it similar, and because of the artificial intelligence that you talked about above you can find an enemy that stares at you and does not move a finger as if it is a fool and sometimes you find them reveal your order from long distance.
Rage 2
Publisher: Bethesda
Developer: id Software
Devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 70
The Rage 2 shows promised an amazing experience, but with regret, the result disappointed despite offering an offensive style that won admiration, but the world was boring and the story is boring and loose, as some criticized the aspect of obtaining weapons, in order to obtain more weapons you have to travel long distances.
The game also makes you feel that there are no real motives that give the player a meaning to fight these battles as they are free of influential moments or unforgettable moments, as the game suffered from catastrophic errors, sometimes we notice the interplay of the sounds of conversations with the sounds of shooting, the game's tasks were closer to a traditional shooting game in the sense It did not offer any new as well as the details of the world were poor in terms of the inaccuracy in showing terrain of different regions.
Crackdown 3
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios
Developer: Sumo Digital
Devices: PC, Xbox One
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 63
Whoever hears Microsoft talking about Crackdown 3 before its launch and how it will revolutionize the effects of destruction and the use of cloud computing to provide a unique experience, but after years of waiting unfortunately the final product did not reach the aspirations of the fans of the series.
The game was blown away by the great repetition of tasks and the open game world did not provide any interaction with the game and makes you bored as the artificial intelligence was bad as some shoot the air without any reason, as well as driving the car was bad and boring until the online phase Wrecking Zone suffered from great technical problems and design stages not level What is needed at all is that, in conclusion, you find that the elements, mechanics of the gameplay and appearance of the game did not provide anything new about what was presented in the part released 12 years ago.
Left Alive
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix
Hardware: PC, PS4
Average rating across Opencritic is 38
Left Alive This game on paper seems promising with its ideas but the application was so bad that its experience was very disastrous, as the developer failed to provide everything that the players promised that he wanted to provide huge items with the lowest budget possible.
There are very funny technical errors in the game, for example, when you eliminate an enemy tank that disappears immediately after its explosion and problems in the animation, along with sounds presented in a bad and disturbing way, and we also experienced a sudden rise in the level of difficulty without any hierarchy, sometimes you will find yourself surpassing enemies with ease and sometimes an enemy is enough One to make you dead.
Jump Force
Publisher: Bandai Namco
Developer: Spike Chunsoft
Devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 58
Jump Force is a game that was supposed to be a celebration for the fiftieth anniversary of Shonen Jump but unfortunately it was not up to expectations, the story was very boring and superficial and the dialogs are cheap and the content is little and the fighting system is confusing, and even the battles were repetitive and the music does not make any impression.
Even the game suffered greatly from balance problems where you will find there are characters stronger than the other, in the end you feel that the developer wanted to collect anime characters and he focused on this greatly, which makes it a game that may appeal to the characters lovers, but it is not satisfactory for fans of fighting.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Paris
Devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 57
The previous part of this series garnered mixed reviews and so many Ghost Recon fans held hopes on the new Ghost Recon Breakpoint that it would improve the experience, but the shock was that what he presented was worse than Wildland, Ubisoft added a lot of elements, but this addition was not in the interest of the game but rather harmed It has a purchase system and items borrowed from other games but not implemented in a way that gives the experience anything new. Where we saw elements from The Division games, and others from Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed, to finally become Ghost Recon tasteless cocktail.
What the player got is a disappointing anecdotal experience full of errors, so that the design of the game limited the gameplay of the neighborhood, focused more on action and cannot rely on offside but the game forces you to team play permanently even though it is not polished yet. Many also criticized the game for stretching for money with the return and continuation of so-called time savings.
In conclusion, the game with this part lost its identity and provided an unpolished collective experience, and unfortunately, it got worse with the need for permanent connection to the Internet.
Anthem
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: BioWare
Devices: PC, PS4, Xbox One
The rate of evaluation across Opencritic is 61
Perhaps the first name that comes to everyone’s mind when reading the title of this article is EA Anthem game, that game has been promoted by the company in a huge and huge way for years and we were really promised with a different experience with great fees until it became on the list of the most expected games in 2019 for some, but the result was The game is full of problems and technical errors that spoiled the experience and some even complained that its mistakes caused the failure of the Playstation 4 devices.
The game also suffered from problems from servers and worse, it needed constant communication, even the story was weak and not well knitted and its tasks are duplicated without diversification and it is above all that comes to us with a short age and includes long boring and annoying loading screens, the game in general gave us a feeling that it was launched in a hurry and before Completing it with a shallow experience that did not contain a strong story and her characters were vulgar, and the system of her prizes was unsuccessful so the player did not feel that he got the rewards he deserves after playing for long hours, but rather everything that was provided by flying and shooting.
How hard it is to raise our hopes to try a game and when it comes out we feel very disappointed that makes us regret those moments of waiting that we may have lived for many years, in general have you been very disappointed by these games? Or are there other games that disappoint you the most?
I reviewed Rage 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Rage 2 is awesome, I don't agree it's a disappointment, even though at its releases the game still need some optimizations.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint, totally agree. Maybe the biggest disappointment of the year.
Rage 2 enjoyed the game speed and attack style, but the weak thing was the story. You might have liked the story because people are kind of an example, I don't like anime games and my friends love them
