In different countries it is celebrated in its own way. New year is the most beloved and desired holiday for all people. Every country in the world has its own customs and traditions associated with the celebration.

The main character of this holiday is of course the Grandfather is a wizard who comes with gifts. In different countries, his name sounds differently. In Russia it's Grandfather frost. It is a tall old man with a white beard in a long red fur coat. In his hands he has a staff, and behind the big bag.

I know that in Finland his name is Joulupukki. Finland (Lapland) is considered the birthplace of this world grandfather.

In Sweden it bears the name of Jultomten.This is a Christmas gnome who lives in the underground of every home.

The British call him "Father Christmas". In the USA — Santa Claus. In France it is Pere Noel...

But, I'm not going to list all the names of this famous grandfather. I offer You the opportunity to talk about it in this competition. Join us and tell us about the name of this new year's magician in Your country, what do You know about him , what traditions are connected with his arrival, as You have this meeting going on.

Children write letters to Santa-the magician. We - adults , are the executors of children's desires, but sometimes we do in secret believe in a miracle.

I suggest to each participant to write his letter to Santa Claus. Not afraid of their desires, even if they are too ridiculous or frivolous. Let's dream a little. So what would You have asked in your letter? And suddenly, Your dream this time will be fulfilled?

Привет, мои дорогие друзья Steemians! Вот и подходит к концу 2017 год. В каждой стране мира люди ждут наступления Нового года. Это интернациональный праздник. В разных странах мира его празднуют по- своему. Новый год - это самый любимый и желанный праздник для всех людей. В каждой стране мира есть свои обычаи и традиции, связанные с данным торжеством.
В преддверии этого замечательного праздника я предлагаю Вам принять участие в конкурсе #Happynewyear .
Главный персонаж этого праздника - это конечно же Дед-волшебник , который приходит с подарками. В разных странах его имя звучит по разному. У нас в России это Дед мороз. Это высокий старец с белой бородой в длинной красной шубе. В руках у него есть посох, а за плечами большой мешок.
Я знаю, что в Финляндии его зовут Йоулупукки. Финляндию (Лапландию) считают родиной этого всемирного деда. В Швеции он носит имя Юльтумтен.Это такой новогодний гном, который живёт в подполье каждого дома. Англичане зовут его - Отец Рождество. В США — Санта Клаус. Во Франции - это Пер Ноэль...
Но, я не буду перечислять весь список имён этого знаменитого деда. Я предоставляю Вам возможность рассказать о нём в этом конкурсе. Присоединяйтесь и расскажите о том, как зовут этого новогоднего волшебника в Вашей стране, что Вы о нём знаете , какие традиции связаны с его приходом, как у Вас эта встреча происходит.
Это будет являться первой частью Вашего участия в конкурсе #Happynewyear .
Дети пишут письма деду-волшебнику. Мы- взрослые , являемся исполнителями детских желаний, но, порой мы сами в тайне верим в чудо. Я предлагаю каждому участнику конкурса написать своё письмо деду морозу. Не стесняйтесь своих желаний, даже если они будут слишком смешными или несерьёзными. Давайте помечтаем. Так что бы Вы попросили в своём письме? А вдруг Ваша мечта в этот раз исполнится? Будьте смелее...
