Back from Vacation
We drove the almost-7-hour-drive back to Nashville from Destin today. It's sad to end such a wonderful vacation, but I'm also excited to get back to my team at FoxyCart as we always have a ton of work to do.
This is probably my favorite picture of the trip, which I took last night as we waited for our table at Boshamps Oyster House. When the kids are playing in hammocks and sand and you have a beautiful woman by your side, a 45-minute-wait is no big deal at all.
The trip was fantastic! We ate like kings and queens the whole time. Here's the meal I had that night—a red snapper with shrimp, greens, and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic! Sorry, the lighting was a bit low.
We had a blast at the beach and the pool every day. Here are a couple shots I took from the pool a few days ago. I was enjoying listening to Cryptonomicon at 3X speed on Audible while watching the kids (as Vinay Gupta said, you should be reading cyber punk).
I may have gone a little overboard with the "adult drinks" but it sure was fun.
@corinnestokes doesn't even like beer, so I drank those beers all myself. :) Each day I'd fill up my thermos, which I previously discovered holds exactly two beers, and head to the beach or pool with the family. Such a good time. Between the two of us, we finished off a bottle of champagne for mimosas and a bottle of tequila and margarita mix while making a sizable dent in a couple boxes of wine we brought with us from home.
I'm happy to be home but also so happy to be in a solid financial position with a paid off house to fully enjoy these vacations, knowing we've worked really hard for many years to earn them.
I hope you've had a great week as well and can an enjoy a vacation of your own to recharge, refresh, and reset.
Also, my cryptocurrency holdings (mostly BTC, STEEM, and BTS) are doing crazy well lately. Happy times indeed. :) While on vacation I was getting a lot of private messages from friends who want more information on how to get involved in cryptocurrency. I outlined some ideas for a series of videos for beginners. Hopefully I can carve off enough time on the nights and weekends (while not ignoring my family) to put them together. Stay tuned. :)
Great job Luke. I went to Destin for a buddies wedding several years ago. Great place! Looks like you had a wide variety of beer! Hahah. The food is looking great as well.

Crazy how vacations can make you take a step back and take it all in! So rewarding and fulfilling, especially when the food and drink are at a premium. I just returned from a 4 hour car ride on a vacation of my own in Sarasota, FL and found myself feeling just like yourself. Great post!
Excellent! Florida really is a fantastic place, I just wouldn't want to be there when a real storm is coming through.

Florida is a great place! Lol don't worry about storms! Hurricanes just barely pass us! 😂😂 And when it rains it'll rain for a few minutes and then get sunny again
Hey, I found a neighbor. Down south of Nashville 50 miles or so. Those paid off mortgages are nice for sure. Did that in 1998, so now you know I'm an old guy.

Isn't that the reason why we are working so hard? From time to time we should simply unplug and not even care about drinking too much "adult drinks" as you called them :)

Sounds like a perfect vacation. Family, food, adult beverages, sun, sand, time to think about the future, and appreciate what you have accomplished. Congrats on the paid off home. I saw your tracking system on an earlier post and think that is a great idea. We are getting close to finishing off our mortgage as well. Hope you get back to Destin soon!

It's nice to see another Tennessee resident on here. I'm up in the northeastern tip though. I've also been to Destin several times. Last time was 10 years ago. It's a really pretty place and they have beautiful beaches. Growing up in the mountains my mom always enjoyed going to a beach for vacations. Looks like you had a great time. That sounds like a really handy thermos to hold the perfect amount of beverage for a fun/relaxing time.
If you like beaches come to siesta key!
