Is Bitcoin an indicator of how much governments fail?
Sad times.
When a boy is able to fire shots at a president this means something is very, very wrong with us all and what that leads to, consciously or subconsciously is that no one feels safe, forever, or for a long period of time.
This also signifies the incompetence of the authorities. Those protecting have failed.
What the impact of that dark event will be on Bitcoin?
Our favorite crypto coin has always been used as a sort of an escapade. An island of virtual security that is not much affected by the stupidity of the politicians when it comes to running country economics.
One assassination attempt brings less security and more fear and uncertainty.
So it does seem logical more is invested in crypto as people search for something more "independent" than their own country currency.
That's just my theory. The future will tell. In my opinion, though, if people are happy and they feel secure and well paid and respected in their countries, they won't invest much in crypto, as it is, by design, high risk. Apart from people who love to gamble, obviously. So, in some extent, Bitcoin is an indicator of how much governments and authorities fail.

I was also sadden and shocked by the news of attempted assassination. I like your correlation here between not being treated well by government and the buying of bitcoin. I think some of us are sick of how much and how the government takes our money and uses it so poorly.
Indeed! I think the most of those who pose questions see that poor management. Not to mention the resources that magically "disappear" along.
I feel there are just not enough out there posing those questions, pushing or demanding for better use of OUR resources. Ah yes the disappearing resources, and then the magical appearance of lavish lifestyles and extravagant parties.
