Images and Inspiration Part 2

Building Barbara-Anne:

You've heard lots about this Barbara-Anne but what is she all about and based on?  My director (Kat who you got to know better here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=CtNK408b0nY ) recently asked me to send her more images, video and details about the details of this unique character Barbara-Anne. Here is some of my research and inspiration to help you get better acquainted with our leading lady and murderess!

Why does Barbara-Anne love the 1950's?

Barbara-Anne's love of the 1950's isn't just because it's a "cool" idea. It stems from her people pleasing tendencies, need to be in control and perfectionist personality. I like the idea that these quirks evolved over time into her becoming enthralled with the 1950's and the place that she feels the most at home. Let's take the  expression of "they were beyond their time" and flip it in the case of Barbara-Anne.

Her Active Imagination:

Barbara-Anne definitely has a bit of that Roxie Hart influence in terms of Crime=Glamour. I love the reference of the film Chicago to demonstrate how Barbara-Anne's imagination works.

Her Look:

Barbara-Anne hair and make up will definitely be an important part of the movie. Devil is in the details and it's important to me to also learn how to do my hair and make up the ol' fashion way (even though on set we'll have professional hair and make up- as an actor for my process I want to practice these hair styles....you will see the tests!)

Her Attitude:

Even though she's a house wife she behaves like a movie star. Her attitude is confident, dramatic and a little bit dark. Her dramatic flare leads to melodramatic movements and behaving almost like a camera is on her at all times. She is most inspired by the likes fo Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and more as shown in the link below.

Incase you missed it:

December 15th/16th Shoot Dates Announced!

As mentioned a few updates ago, we are all systems go for our shoot dates and every up vote and donation is helping make sure this Canadian, female driven short film gets made! It truly takes a village. I hope that these little updates help you envision the world we are creating and give you more insight into the creative process and my process as an actor.

This work is just as important as fundraising, location scouting or gathering crew and it requires a lot of time and energy. However, we need this depth of character and specificity of story to make sure this film has the impact we want. Looking cinematically beautiful isn't enough!
